Risk management and insurance (RMI) require the combination of a variety of aptitudes and personality traits. There is, however, a combination of specific skills and interests that many successful individuals in the RMI community seem to possess. Strong organizational skills, with an orientation toward detail, along with sound analytical thinking, are common among good risk managers and insurance professionals. The best in the field are also good communicators who foster support for their risk management decisions. And, hopefully, all persons working in the RMI field are ethical individuals who care about the morality of their actions and the actions of their organizations.

His dream became a reality in 1999. Unfortunately, Terry passed away in May 2000 due to complications from AL amyloidosis. He may be gone, but certainly not forgotten, as he was the motivating force behind the institution of the Amyloidosis Support Network (ASN) along with the development and deployment of www.amyloidosis.org Our primary goals are: 3. Encourage the medical field to learn more about diagnosis and treatment of amyloidosis. In 2004, the Amyloidosis Support Network (ASN) began operations as a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Georgia, USA. The Amyloidosis Support Network Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is committed to increasing the rate of early detection of amyloidosis, thereby improving survivability and quality of life. Our approach is to increase awareness among the public and professional communities, as well as, linking patients/families to further experienced medical and emotional support resources. We intend to sponsor programs and services, worldwide, through the leadership of our knowledgeable and dedicated staff and volunteers.
