Since 1984 National Dynamics has taught over a million Americans of all ages to do something that seems next to impossible but is actually a lot fun. Speak and understand a language other than English - without memorizing "Who... me?" Yes, you! The secret is that we teach you to "see" new words and phrases that "sound" like English words you already know. For example, " S-O-C-K-S " sounds like "¡Eso Si, Que Es!" Which in Spanish means roughly, "That's what I want, that's the ticket, that's what it is!"

Extractions: The relation between language and theory of mind remains in need of clarification, both at the level of language evolution, language acquisition and the very content of theory of mind. This raises the question of the very nature of theory of mind. Is it a monolithic, more or less modular mental faculty; or is it a combination of different mechanisms, some of which may be rather low-level? How much theory is there in theory of mind and how much is needed to evolve a language? Very much the same questions apply to language acquisition. This workshop will attempt to analyse the coevolution of these two uniquely human capacities, their co-dependence and interaction. The Workshop is organized by the Institut des Sciences Cognitives CNRS, Lyon. Starting from February 2004, a new paper will be put on line and open to discussion every two weeks. The research presented in this workshop is supported in the framework of the European Science Foundation EUROCORES programme.

The current version is called verlan , a name which is itself verlan: ver lan lan ver = l'envers (meaning the reverse Verlan is formed by inverting syllables . As with many language games , Verlan suffers from the fact that it is primarily a spoken language passed down orally, and thus there exists no standardized spelling. While some still argue that the letters should be held over from the original word, in the case of Verlan most experts agree that words should be spelt as to best approximate pronunciation , hence the use of verlan as opposed to versl'en As most potential readers here are not French, here's an attempted example of English verlan, which could be called versin inverse inversed). might be transformed into One of the reasons that verlan has not caught on in English-speaking countries is precisely that morphology in French is less strict than in English, and so French syllables are more conducive to inversion from linguistic and aesthetic standpoints, however, similar manners of speaking such as
