OpenBSD: Hardware Wanted The following list outlines hardware that the OpenBSD project could use. Serial ATA controllers (Promise PDC203xx, Intel 31244, HPT 374) http://www.openbsd.org/want.html
Extractions: The following list outlines hardware that the OpenBSD project could use. Some of this is being requested so that developers can improve or add driver support for devices which are rare; other requests are for hardware that will improve our development environment. In either case, we think we are being reasonable at asking for these devices. If you do not own these devices, but want to help us, we recommend you search on eBay for the devices. If you do the bidding and then get the device shipped to us, it really helps us. It's much better if our developers do not need to spend the time going through the bidding process, since any time saved can be spent on improving OpenBSD instead. Some regions of the world have a specific want list for that area. If you are in one of these regions, first check to see what developers close to you are in need of or want to work on support for. In each case, please contact Theo de Raadt before simply shipping hardware around. (So that we can decide where the hardware needs to be shipped to).

Network Device Driver Programming Guide: I/O Networking Family API which transfer network packets to and from the controller hardware, and for network The network family currently supports ethernet controllers, http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeviceDrivers/Conceptual/NetworkDriver/
Extractions: Advanced Search Log In Not a Member? Contact ADC ... Network Device Driver Programming Guide The network family defines a framework for building drivers of network controllers. It includes the superclasses for network drivers, which transfer network packets to and from the controller hardware, and for network interfaces, which serve as nubs connecting the BSD networking stack to the driver. Writing a driver involves creating a subclass of the appropriate superclass for a controller driver. The network family currently supports ethernet controllers, with an abstract superclass for controller drivers and a concrete interface class. Itâs also possible to add support for new controller types, such as token ring or FDDI, by creating new classes for drivers and interfaces. A network driver is a provider within the network family, but it is also a client of whatever bus the physical device connects to. The CDC Ethernet driver, for example, uses an IOUSBDevice nub to connect to the USB bus. For information on client setup, see the document appropriate for that device. The network family comprises a small group of core driver and nub classes, along with a host of utility and helper classes.

These controllers utilize Micro-processors, Micro-controllers and Digital Signal Processors but are neither used nor perceived as computers. Generally, software is used for features and flexibility, while hardware is used for performance. Some examples of applications of embedded controllers are: Design of embedded systems can be subject to many different types of constraints, including timing, size, weight, power consumption, reliability, and cost. Current methods for designing embedded systems require to specify and design hardware and software separately. A specification, often incomplete and written in non-formal languages, is developed and sent to the hardware and software engineers. Hardware-software partition is decided

The specification includes a description of the hardware/software interface between system software and the host controller hardware. This specification is intended for hardware component designers, system builders and device driver (software) developers. Implementation of the Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification requires a license from Intel. Adopters of the Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification for USB have signed the Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification for USB - Adopters Agreement in order to be licensed to use and implement this Specification. This Adopters Agreement provides Adopters with a reciprocal, royalty-free license to certain intellectual property rights from Intel and other Adopters and Contributors for their products that are compliant with the Enhanced Host Controller Interface Specification for USB. Licensing of Revision 1.0 of the EHCI Specification allows the implementation of both discrete and integrated compliant EHCI host controllers. All versions of the specification prior to the Revision1.0 level (0.95 and 0.96) are licensed to allow the implementation of compliant, discrete EHCI host controllers only.

Bisque.Com A. AutomaDome supports the following dome controller hardware. If your dome controller uses different hardware than listed above, AutomaDome has a dome http://www.bisque.com/Products/AutomaDome/
Extractions: vert Search Bisque.com inter Happy New Year! Software Bisque will be closed until January 3, 2005. Home Products Paramount ME CCDSoft ... iBisque vert ($249) AutomaDome is a Windows application that integrates with TheSky Astronomy Software to control motorized domes to keep the dome's slit synchronized with the telescope's optic. AutomaDome computes the correct dome slit azimuth and elevation for any type of telescope, placed anywhere inside the dome. When used in conjunction with TheSky Astronomy Software's telescope control, your dome automatically follows the telescope, without human intervention. Dome Geometry Determining the precise altitude and azimuth of the dome's slit relative to the telescope's optic is not a trivial matter. For example, suppose your telescope is a German Equatorial Mount (GEM) mounted slightly off the center of the dome. As the telescope slews to different parts of the sky (and different sides of the Meridian), the optic and slit must remain coincident. AutomaDome uses the geometry of your telescope and dome to compute precisely where the dome's slit should be. The following parameters are required to predict the azimuth and elevation of the dome aperture for any asymmetrically mounted telescope.
