Senator Cathy Cook Press Releases I continue to be an active member of the military schools Community Support Those military personnel stationed in connecticut qualify for instate http://www.senaterepublicans.ct.gov/press/cook/070704_2.htm
Extractions: By State Senator Cathy Cook There is no question that our world has changed dramatically since September 11, 2001. Because of the global threat of terrorism, military and homeland defense has taken on a greater importance at both the state and federal levels. I believe I have an important responsibility to do all I can to assist and support both the military personnel who risk their lives defending our freedom as well help their families at home. At the local, state, and even federal level, efforts are being redoubled to support our armed forces stationed here in Connecticut and overseas. The "Connecticut Supports Our Soldiers" drive in Groton is an example of how we are working together to help. This is a community-wide effort to collect items ranging from food to crossword puzzle books and ship them to soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. As part of the drive, the Town of Groton is hosting a community event from 9am to noon on Saturday July 10 th at the Robert E. Fitch High School where volunteers will assemble and mail items donated by Groton residents. Groton has a rich military history of defending our nation from the Revolutionary War battle at Fort Griswold, to today's submariners so it is no surprise that residents have organized to demonstrate their support for our troops in the Middle East. I would like to recognize and congratulate everyone who donated his or her time and belongings for this great cause. I plan to be there to help and I hope many others will take part as well.

Extractions: Contact us today to get help for struggling teens The public school system of today is not fully equipped to handle troubled teenagers. Often times, parents turn to military schools as an option to discipline and educate their troubled teenagers. Military schools , which seemed headed for extinction in the late 1960s and early '70s, have seen enrollments increase steadily in recent years. Many military schools are jammed to capacity and sport long waiting lists, as anxious parents scramble for slots.
