When Mr. Beetle arrives home unexpectedly, the painter hides in a fireplace and escapes through the chimney. Unfortunately, he leaves a painting behind and is discovered. Later, having forgiven his wife, the happy couple go to the movies only to see Mr. Beetle's trist on the screen as photographed through a keyhole. Mr. Beetle seeks out the cameraman and fights with him. Chaos results, and the couple are last seen sharing a cell, perhaps happier but assuredly wiser.
