Unfortunately however, it very much a specific guide, and if I'm not mistaken, the intent of this list is to discuss dedicated hardware solutions for participating in projects through distributed.net. With RC5, CSC, DES, and it appears OGR performance, little of this makes difference. The client's core runs entirely in L1 cache, L2 cache is a moot point. Also, distributed.net makes an effort to optimize for common processors, so clock for clock, Athlons are faster than Pentium 3s.
