     Extractions: Web sites Children's literature in the Curriculum Resources Collection has a high priority. Literature forms an important part of the learning experience for the student in the school environment. The collection here is used for a number of courses in both the Faculty of Education and the English department in the Faculty of Arts. It includes not only recently published material but also a fair sample of the best literature published for children and young adults since the turn of the century. It includes material that was specifically published to assist with the learning experience, as well as literature written purely for the reader's pleasure. Raps and Book raps Book raps are an initiative of the Dept of Education and Training's Library and Information Literacy Unit and offer ways of developing discussion points about a topic or book, stimulate classroom activities, and provide opportunities for teachers and students to share responses and ideas with other schools. Each rap has support material support material which addresses relevant syllabus outcomes and includes collaboratively planned lesson ideas including teaching strategies, proformas for use by students, and other resources, such as special guests available online and WebQuests.      Extractions: International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) was founded in 1953. This nonprofit organization provides an international forum for these committed to bringing children and books together and is the centerpiece of the international children’s literature movement. IBBY was faunded by Jela Lepman (1897-1970) children’s literature scholor, after Second World War, when she began to care about children’s books on a world scale. IBBY general mission is to promote international understanding and world peace through children’s books. More specifically, IBBY also strives to: All countries are eligible to join IBBY. Currently, there are 62 member nations, each of which has a national organization affilated with IBBY. The organization has its headquartes in Basel, Switzerland, and it supported through dues from the National Sections and donations. Authors, illustrators, publishers, translators, juornalists, critics, teachers, lectures, students, librariens, social workers and parents can be the members of national sections. This organization stimulates and seeks, that masterpieces of children’s literature have ever be created wasn’t only country pride, and more of them can be found by fans of books in the world.
