MSU Chemistry & Biochemistry Links online tutorials for Introductory and General chemistry. These tutorials are not a substitute for reading your text, working problems and taking notes in http://www.csam.montclair.edu/~whitener/chem.html
Extractions: Introduction The table below contains a limited set of annotated links to chemical resources both on and off campus. These links are a subjective listing chosen primarily for their relevance to Montclair State University Chemistry and Biochemistry Students. In order to keep the site manageable, the number of links in each category will remain small. If you would like to explore vast amounts of chemistry information on the web on your own, try the chemical indices link. Suggestions for new sites and suggestion for improvement are welcome. Please send your comments to Dr. Whitener These are sites are comprehensive directories of chemical sites. They generally do not have much content of their own. They are similar to yahoo! which covers the entire world wide web, except these indices primarily cover chemistry. The sites are generally good for browsing for chemical information. If you have trouble finding something , you may have better luck using a standard search engines which are listed at the end of this section. An excellent starting point for chemical exploration.

Extractions: Text only ChemHome StaffPG Directory ... Safety Organic Chemistry Tutorial Interface This application is designed to allow interactive online tutorials in which students can respond to questions by drawing chemical structures. Chemical structures are drawn with the mouse, and they are always drawn in the form of "stick diagrams". This application was developed here at Aberdeen, and has been in use now for a couple of years. There is a link to the application on the Chem1 home page, or you can go straight to the application's home page at http://www.abdn.ac.uk/~che185/. There are links there to online instructions, and to the application itself. Click on Run the Tutorial , then on Student Interface There will be a short delay while the Java Applet loads. Start the first section of the tutorial by double-clicking on 1 Getting Started. Use the button to load the first question. The screen should look much like that below, although here some attempts have been made to answer the question. If you cannot see the whole of the Sketcher, drag a corner of the Window to enlarge it so it looks like the illustration here.
University Of Wisconsin-Madison-Final Report, Section 3 online homework. The chemistry team has developed 417 homework question sets online tutorials. To date, the team has developed 37 instructional modules http://www.center.rpi.edu/PewGrant/rd1award/UWMFR3.html
Extractions: Online tutorials. Because students come to class prepared to ask questions after completing the tutorials and because they help structure the discussion sections, less preparation time is required from the TAs. Tutorials also provide an effective substitute for faculty time spent preparing and delivering lectures. When the team did less lecturing and counted on the tutorials to provide a major fraction of the instruction, students were not at a disadvantage.
