Untitled Index to reports and maps of general interest = Index des rapports et cartesd interet general. Geological maps of Canada, history and evolution. http://www.library.ucsb.edu/people/larsgaard/canada.html
Extractions: Any cartobibliography that is not limited by time frame is never truly completed, and this one is no exception. I began work on in it in 1984 or thereabouts, when I was the Map Librarian at the Arthur Lakes Library, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, and where about 90 percent of the reference questions I answered were on geologic maps. I have been working on it off and on ever since - most recently with the assistance of two research grants from the Librarians Association of the University of California - and have finally reached the point where I realize I've done what I can, given the time I have available, and the fact that the collection with which I work now has relatively few geologic maps. Even with all that time and effort, there are still many question marks throughout the index.

Yoshinkan Aikido - Bushinkan Dojo International Yoshinkan Aikido Federation affiliated dojo located at the canadian Forces Base in Trenton. general membership information and links are given. http://www.ourwebniche.com/bushinkan/
Extractions: "Power From Knowledge" Aikido is a modern martial art derived from the samurai aikijitsu fighting techniques of ancient Japan. Long known as a powerful and efficient martial art, Aikido is the study of techniques, not the use of strength. Aikido techniques involve large flowing circular movements where your partner's energy is guided to take him into a joint-lock or throw. These movements rely on timing, balance, and self-control, rather than physical strength and aggression. Due to its very effective but non-aggressive nature, Aikido is taught to police forces world-wide. With the development of solid basic techniques, Aikido can provide a powerful means of self-defence without undue aggression. The Bushinkan Dojo and its instructors are both registered and licensed by the International Yoshinkan Aikido Federation (IYAF) in Tokyo, Japan. As such, all gradings are recognized internationally. The Bushinkan Dojo is located under the Junior Ranks Mess at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario. New members are welcome to start at any time. During class, new members are assisted by black belt instructors. Attention is focused on basic movements and techniques, safe ways of falling (breakfalls), and dojo etiquette.
Dr. Bailey Finding Aid - Series 12 19681969 Case 72 File 2 history Department - general. 1967-1968 Case 73 File9 Literary history of Canada material file I. 1961-1965 Case 73 File 10 http://www.lib.unb.ca/archives/Bailey/s12.html
Extractions: (Cases 57-64, 71-85) Vice-President (Academic). 1874; 1926-1970; predominant 1965-1969. 292.1 cm (23 cases). Dr. Bailey served as Vice-President (Academic) at the University of New Brunswick from 1965-1969, during a period of dynamic expansion and radical student activism. Under President Colin B. Mackay, who served from 1953-1969, UNB experienced rapid growth, with the construction of several new buildings and the creation of new faculties, courses, and programs, the construction of a new library, the development of research centres, and the expansion of graduate studies. The cultural life of the university also was enhanced through the appointment of resident writers, musicians and artists. Politically, the university underwent rapid transformation following the passage of a new UNB Act in 1968, which lead to a major reorganization of administrative structures and brought increased student and faculty participation in university politics. The bulk of this series comprises office files which were generated by Dr. Bailey during his term as Vice-President (Academic). Included are memos and correspondence, letters of application and curriculum vitaes, nineteen sixties agendas and minutes of meetings of departments and university governing bodies, review articles, newsletters and offprints, financial reports, and general reports of departments, faculties, and organizations affiliated with the university or with secondary education. These files document the administrative life of the University of New Brunswick during the nineteen sixties, and reflect the general movement towards democratization of university government during this period. The activities of various academic offices and services, including the Awards office, the Accommodations office, the Comptroller's office, the Registrar's office, and Graphic services, are recorded in this series, together with the day-to-day operations of the governing bodies and the departments, faculties, and schools within the institution.
