Extractions: After months of checking out master of business administration (MBA) programmes at private schools, researcher Muhammad Tani Tabiin, 35, found something that suited him to a T. He did not have to go to class, could study whenever he had time, and all he needed for the lessons was an Internet connection. His choice of study mode: a degree offered by online university Universitas 21 Global. For Mr Tani, who works long hours as a post-doctoral fellow at a local research institute, online study was perfect. He has a 10-month-old daughter, and his wife is expecting another child in October. His case is just one example of why getting an education online has become more popular in Singapore, especially with working adults who want to upgrade themselves.

How To Read Class Schedules How To Read online Schedules. The day portion of the class schedule When taking courses that have both lecture sections (SEC) and nocredit lab http://www.depts.ttu.edu/officialpublications/Abbreviations.html
Extractions: Spring 2005 How To Read Online Schedules The "day" portion of the class schedule indicates a specific day or combination of days that the class meets. When a class meets daily, the class schedule will indicate a meeting date of Monday through Friday (M-F). MWF indicates a Monday/Wednesday/Friday meeting time, and TR indicates a Tuesday/Thursday class. All night courses are indicated by PM. Subjects are listed in alphabetical order under the department and college in which they are taught. Courses appear in numerical order under each subject heading and give the course number, title, section, hours, days, buildings, room numbers, instructors (when known), and a five-digit call number to be used for Web registration. The abbreviation ARR or TBA for the time indicates the class meeting time will be arranged by the student and the instructor. The name of the instructor is tentatively assigned and may be changed without advance notice. When taking courses that have both lecture sections (SEC) and no-credit lab sections (XCL), the student must enroll in one lab and one lecture section to receive proper credit for the course. The individual department may or may not require enrollment in discussion sections (DIS).

Extractions: Welcome to Biology 101. This class is an introduction to biology and is the first of a two-course sequence (bio 101 and bio 102) designed for non-science majors. Please note that this class is not a prerequisite for biology 103 or biology 104 (biology for science / biology majors). This class covers the scientific method, cellular structure, bioenergetics, cell reproduction, and a survey of the human organ systems. REQUIRED TEXT Postlethwait, Explore Life. Thompson Publishers, 2003. LAB BOOK: Weisshaar, Cooperative Learning, Making Connections in general Biology, Thompson Publishers, 2000. ATLAS: Perry, Photo Atlas for Biology, Wadsworth Publishers 1996. The 3 textbooks needed for this class can be purchased bundled together at a reduced rate or purchased separately. If a lab book is purchased used, make sure that all the pages are intact and it has not been written in. This lab book will be taken up for a grade. The Atlas enclosed with the bundle will primarily be used on lab day. It will be utilized more in biology 102 than in biology 101. These books are used during both semesters of biology so additional textbooks are not required for biology 102, the second course in this sequence.
Extractions: gbmoneta@hotmail.com This case study compares studentsÂ’ learning experience and outcomes in the lecture and online versions of a first-year introductory computing course offered at the Department of Computer Science of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In spring 2000, 105 mostly first year biology majors completed the lecture-based course. In fall 2000, the online version of the course was offered to 180 mostly first year chemistry majors. The study found no marked differences in overall student learning and satisfaction across the two course versions. However, students of the online course obtained lower results in conceptual learning, but perceived the course as less difficult and slower-pace than the students of the lecture-based course. These differences are interpreted in the context of the Hong Kong educational system. 1. INTRODUCTION
