Central Arkansas Library System Note Every school media center should subscribe to the arkansas Historical Quarterly. Having been published for well over fifty years, the Quarterly is a http://www.cals.lib.ar.us/butlercenter/bib.htm
Extractions: Central Arkansas Library System The purpose of this bibliography is to compile in handy form a listing of publications and other materials which teachers of Arkansas History might find useful. This is not a comprehensive bibliography of everything that ought to be found in a school media center or public library. Rather, it is intended to help the individual teacher pull together the information needed to prepare lesson plans and effectively teach about our state. The teacher can use this list to get started, then build on it as time goes by. Almost every month something new and useful is published in the field. Becoming an informed teacher of Arkansas History is a life-time process, one which involves much readingbut it is a satisfying experience. The bulk of the titles in this list are still in-print and available. However, a number of out-of-print titles are included. These materials can usually be found in college and university libraries as well as the larger public libraries in the state. I would urge you to familiarize yourself with the Arkansas collection in your local libraries. Computer software titles, as well as vidoes, are not included in this list, but it is expected that these resources will become more numerous as time goes by.
