Advanced plans for the creation of a vocational and life-skills training center to help maximize independence and develop career training, job options and self-help skills for teens and young adults with autism. Established after-school model programs to serve 80 students, including typical peers, while serving as a training opportunity for teachers. Produced and distributed nearly 1,300 autistic disorder screening kits to pediatricians and primary care physicians throughout Arizona in an effort to encourage early diagnosis resulting in early therapeutic interventions. This kit, which is part of SARRC's broader Physician Outreach Program, was designed in collaboration with the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and local pediatric practices.
