Extractions: The National Outdoors on Sunday was a complete disaster . Had to give up half way through. The part of the line I was on was completely uneven, with the result that my left foot was in a hole, meaning it was around 2 inches lower than my right. Needless to say it completely shagged up my stance, if I tried a square stance the string started murdering my bowarm, and if I put my foot in the hole with my usual open stance, the base of my spine started to really hurt thanks to the awkward angle. There were no spare bays to shoot in, and the judge(special no thanks to him for the lack of understanding) would not let me take a half step *backwards* to get my feet on a flat piece of grass. The IOC recognizes a hierarchy of sports, disciplines, and events. To the IOC, a sport is represented by a single international governing body. To look at a concrete example, most people would say that swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, and water polo are four separate sports. However, the international governing body for all three is the Federation Internationale de Natation. In Olympic terms, therefore, the sport is aquatics. Target archery happens to be the only archery discipline included in the Olympics, but the International Archery Federation also governs competition in field archery and ski archery, which are considered separate disciplines.
