Degrees & Majors Academic subjects in the sciences and math, humanities, and social sciences both as theory and through direct, personal experiences in agriculture, wildlife, forestry, and outdoor skills. http://www.sterlingcollege.edu/degrees.htm
Extractions: Sterling College About Sterling Academic Programs Student Life ... Academic Calendar Degrees and Majors The Sterling curriculum combines, in a unique fashion, the classic elements of a liberal arts education. Most distinctive is Sterlings integration of the applied sciences. Sterlings curriculum demands commitmentphysical, intellectual, and emotionalto problem-solving in the real-world context. The Yearly Progression of Study Program and Degree Requirements The Associate of Arts Degree Program After the second year students may earn a two-year degree in Resource Management. The associate's degree allows the opportunity to develop a concentration in a particular area such as agriculture, environmental education, forestry, or wildlife. Associates degree students may develop a concentration by earning at least ten on-campus electives in a particular area, and completing an internship in the area of concentration.

NSU - Norfolk State University Norfolk State program assisting minorities in gaining access to math and science fields. Includes brochure and application. http://www.nsu.edu/schools/sciencetech/dnimas/
Extractions: The Dozoretz National Institute for Mathematics and Applied Sciences (DNIMAS) was established in December, 1985. Its primary goal is to address the severe shortage of minority scientists by producing graduates who are capable of successfully completing graduate studies in the basic and applied sciences, however, the program is open to all students. Graduates of the Institute will also be capable of entering medical or other professional schools. Successful completion of the DNIMAS program results in a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, or a Bachelor of Science in Physics. The DNIMAS program is unique. All of its students are supported by full, four-year scholarship/grant aid that is renewed on an annual basis. It represents a major commitment by Norfolk State University to provide the best possible education in the sciences for highly qualified and motivated students.
