You can be sure we're watching them verrrry closely to make sure these kittens are raised right! And now we proudly present...

Conservative Animal Welfare Group Online Aims to raise the awareness of animal welfare issues within the Conservative Party, to develop related policies, and to lobby policymakers. http://www.cawg.org.uk/
Extractions: Conservative Animal Welfare. CAWG believes that a responsible Government has a responsible approach to both people and animals. There is a long history of a close correlation between the way a person or a society treats animals and the way it treats its own people. We do not believe that animals have rights but we do believe that people have responsibilities. The Conservative Party has always been at the forefront of improving animal welfare legislation in the UK. CAWG is determined that this tradition will continue. We welcome some aspects of New Labours draft Animal Welfare Bill but state unequivocally that this is a missed opportunity to look at the whole raft of legislation and to pull together the mass of legislation which has built up overt the years. As always New Labour seems to be more interested in spin and publicity than actually doing anything substantial. Membership of CAWG is open to all paid up members of the Conservative Party. If you are interested in joining CAWG and working with us to provide the Conservative Party with a science based genuine animal welfare policy then click onto the membership page and join now Roger Baker Chairman CAWG Pages On This Site...

Extractions: View ALL Pets! FIONNA NEEDS YOUR HELP Fionna got her first lucky break when one of our volunteers, on vacation in North Carolina, spotted her during a dangerous thunderstorm, in the middle of a busy highway. As soon as she opened her car door, Miss Fionna hopped right in. Efforts to find her home were fruitless, and this little girl was off on a road trip that led straight to SICAW. Now she is waiting patiently for her next lucky break. Fionna is asking for nothing more than a home of her own. She assumed, as did we, that because she is small, (the perfect size, really), calm, sweet, and extremely affectionate, she would be adopted in no time at all. Well, it seems that the market for a 7-year old mutt isn't the hottest, because she is still living in a kennel, and she is getting more depressed with each day that passes. It is absolutely heartbreaking. All she wants, after everything she's been through, is a safe place to call home, and a few nice toys to play with (she loves laying on the ground, legs straight out behind her, happily gnawing away on a bone or chewy treat). As it stands now, she loses a little bit of her spirit every day she waits. Fionna will make a wonderful companion for almost any household. She is very people and child friendly but would probably enjoy being the only pet. She is fully housebroken and fully vaccinated. Please open your heart and home to this sweet girl. You wont be sorry.

Extractions: This one concerns a cat we named Sol, rescued by a young local boy from the bottom of a pit latrine. He was dehydrated and badly malnourished, and his whiskers had been cut (in Guatemala, folk wisdom says that cats with cut whiskers will not stray), The quicklime in the latrine had burnt all the fur off his paws. He looked bad, and smelled worse. We put him in the downstairs bathroom, and slowly he recovered over a period of a few weeks.
