Extractions: Remarks: At the time of his death Paganini owned 11 instruments by Antonio Stradivari. Among them there was a quartet, the 1692 Dessaint violin, the 1724 Paganini violin, the 1731 Paganini viola and the 1736 Paganini cello. The four instruments were separated and came together in the early 1940s when Herrmann purcheased them all. Mrs. Clarke bequeathed the set after her death to the Corcoran Gallery. Paganini Strad., A.
