In reviewing the performance itself, the Times said it went "well beyond the dazzling but clinically fastidious playing one so often hears from young wizards." "Heaven Meets Earth at Davies Hall" "Cerovsek Electrifies at the Gardner" "Cerovseks Brilliance Dazzles Meany Hall Crowd" Tonight show, and in 1997 he was featured on CBS Sunday Morning. He maintains a busy orchestral and recital schedule, with performances throughout North America as well as in Australia, Japan, China, the Netherlands, and Guatemala. If he had not taken advantage of his obvious musical talents, Cerovsek might well have earned notice if not fame as a mathematician. "But math remains a big part of my personality and my mental life, and it provides a kind of restful oasis from the general zaniness of being a musician," Cerovsek told Strings magazine. "I love to read in the sciences, especially theoretical physics, and if you see me out taking a walk and just sort of staring off, Im probably thinking about the nature of space and time. I like doing that."

Extractions: Schubert's music played a pivotal role in my own study as a conductor. My teacher was trained in Vienna, and it was he that decided, after hearing my performance of Schubert's Great C Major Symphony, that I badly needed to go to Vienna myself, to hear the orchestras play, and to meet the people, speak Austrian dialect, and eat Schnitzel! I have to say he was right! By the graces of the Austrian American Foundation, and the recommendation of my teacher, I became the first recipient of the Karajan Fellowship for Young Conductors . I look forward to bringing the spirit of Vienna to you through the music of one of Vienna's native sons. In his own lifetime, Schubert was an outsider who toiled in the shadow of the German composer Beethoven. Where Beethoven was outspoken, Schubert was intimate. Beethoven circulated in Viennese aristocratic society Schubert had chamber music parties with his friends. The intimacy of his world, and the sense of Viennese Agemutlichkeit@ (Warm friendliness; amicability.) is prevalent in the symphony in B-flat. Our guest soloist, Mr. Corey Cerovsek, is a true genius as you can tell when you read
