Centrospazio Home A space technology research laboratory specialized in Electric propulsion development and testing Hall thrusters, FEEP systems, MPD thrusters, arcjets. http://www.centrospazio.cpr.it
Extractions: Centrospazio is a space technology laboratory set up in 1989 in the outskirts of Pisa. Founded and directed by Prof. Mariano Andrenucci , Centrospazio was established as a part of Consorzio Pisa Ricerche (Pisa Research Consortium), jointly formed in 1987 by the University of Pisa , the National Research Council ( CNR ) and the Italian Institute for Public Enterprise (IRI). Through the consortium scheme Centrospazio retains a close link with the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the University of Pisa, sharing part of its personnel and resources and serving as a top-level laboratory for graduate students and researchers. On the other hand, Centrospazio's own staff can be tailored to the needs of ongoing activities, and its own separate administration gives it the possibility to undertake contracts and interact with industrial counterparts and funding bodies with the promptness and the flexibility of a private enterprise. Centrospazio's facilities are primarily intended to perform experimental activities requiring simulated space vacuum. However, it hosts a variety of other activities ranging from theoretical and computational studies to other types of space oriented experiments not involving vacuum simulation. Centrospazio's premises are located in an industrial estate for the development of small to medium sized businesses, about 10 minutes distance from the city centre, main railway station and the airport.

Home Marine maneuvering and propulsion systems. http://www.omnithruster.com/
Extractions: For 25 years OmniThruster has been a world leader in the development of waterjet maneuvering systems. Our unique, patented designs, which provide diverse maneuverability and auxiliary propulsion, have been the installation choice on vessels worldwide. An OmniThruster produces thrust continuously ... with nozzles in or out of the water... in rough seas... in strong currents... while pitching, yawing, rolling, or heaving. An OmniThruster can even produce thrust while the vessel is underway at several knots, a condition in which conventional propeller tunnel thrusters are subject to cavitation and do not produce thrust, if at all. OmniThruster's patented system consists of five basic proprietary building blocks: Kinetic Converter takes input shaft energy and produces usable hydraulic energy by the use of a mixed flow impeller. Steering Vanes continuously meter, or proportion, a percentage of the fluid flow to one or both sides of the vessel. Nozzles accelerate the mass of water creating a thrust force at the hull interface.

Extractions: Email: info@basspropulsionlaboratories.com Recorded @ BPL Check out our archives of who has recorded at BPL. Studio slideshow Take a quick tour of the studio and our gear. Welcome to Bass Propulsion Laboratories in downtown Dallas, Texas. We offer state-of-the-art recording and production for any project. Whether itâs a full blown album length CD, a song or two, or just a voice over, we can deliver. The BPL philosophy is simple: No one should be forced to pay L.A., New York, or Nashville studio rates for superb recording quality - nor should you pay reasonable rates only to record in a bedroom studio (or in a real studio only to end up with a recording that sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom). We donât hit you with hidden costs (you donât pay extra for the good gear , and you are welcome to use all of the guitars and amps, drums, keys, etc.), and you'll work with people who actually care about your end results. Give us a call and we can discuss your individual recording needs. Our rates are highly competitive, and we offer further discounts for multiple sessions.

Beginner's Guide To Aeronautics Prepared at NASA Glenn by the Learning Technologies Project (LTP) to provide background information on basic aerodynamics and propulsion for secondary math and science teachers. Includes interactive animated illustrations of many concepts. http://www.lerc.nasa.gov/WWW/K-12/airplane/
Extractions: Guided Tour I n the 21st century, airplanes are a normal part of everyday life. We see them fly over, or read about them, or see them on television. Most of us have traveled on an airplane, or we know someone who has. Do you ever wonder how airplanes fly? What causes the lift that gets the airplane off the runway? How does a pilot control the movement of the airplane? Why are the engines on an airliner different from the engines on a fighter plane? How does aerodynamics affect the flight of a model rocket or a kite? The information at this site is provided by the NASA Glennn Learning Technologies Project (LTP) to give you a better understanding of how aircraft work.
Interstellar Transportation General concepts and preliminary design for electrostatic propulsion system with goal of reaching 0.2 to 0.5c for interstellar voyages. http://hometown.aol.com/malcolmbmcneill/InterstellarTransportationExplo.html
Extractions: Travel to the nearby star systems using maximum velocities greater than 0.5 light speed can be initiated using essentially current technology. After placing the Power Collector Beam Collimator/ Controller Station (aka Power Beam Generator [PBG]) in solar orbit and placing the assembled Interstellar Vehicle in earth geosynchronous orbit, the Alpha Centauri system can be reached in from years (highly optimistic) to 40 years (reasonably optimistic) . An operational concept is presented with high level design descriptions supporting this assertion. The design, development, test, and production of this system will be a global economic driver exceeding that of the combined effects of the jet transport and information service processing industries of the 20th century. Can such a rising tide fail to lift each boat? This will generate a veritable economic tsunami! Interstellar exploration and the colonization of extrasolar planets will provide a source of immense enhancement of human species survivability;

Howstuffworks "How Electromagnetic Propulsion Will Work" Illustrated tutorial shows how Goodwin's electromagneticpropulsion system works and how it could send spacecraft deep into space. http://www.howstuffworks.com/electromagnetic-propulsion.htm
Extractions: For decades, the only means of space travel have been rocket engines that run off of chemical propulsion. Now, at the beginning of the 21st century, aerospace engineers are devising innovative ways to take us to the stars , including light propulsion nuclear-fusion propulsion and antimatter propulsion. A new type of spacecraft that lacks any propellant is also being proposed. This type of spacecraft, which would be jolted through space by electromagnets , could take us farther than any of these other methods.
Extractions: Pioneers of Waterjet Propulsion In 1954, on a shallow fast flowing river in the back country of the South Island of New Zealand, a small boat overcame the forces of nature to travel upstream against the current. The boat was a Hamilton Jetboat, and is recognised as the genesis of the modern waterjet propulsion system. Today, waterjets are the preferred propulsion choice for a wide range of work and patrol vessels, and pleasure craft where high efficiency, outstanding manoeuvrability, shallow draft capability and low maintenance are key requirements. The Hamilton organisation remains at the forefront of this industry through the activities of its two operating divisions, Hamilton Jet and Hamilton Marine The HamiltonJet factory is dedicated to the manufacture and development of waterjet propulsion systems. HamiltonJets experienced sales and support network includes Regional Offices in Europe, America and Asia/Pacific, together with Distributors in over 50 locations around the world. !!! NEW RELEASE !!!
