Three teams are now underway in the Suburban program, offering a Youth Pee Wee football and cheer program for 3rd and 4th graders; a Youth Junior football and cheer program for 5th and 6th graders; and a Youth seniors football and cheer program for our 7th and 8th graders. Extractions: How the NFL Can Help The development of youth football is one of the NFL's top priorities. Our support of youth football programs is conducted through a group of organized partnerships known as the NFL National Youth Football Partners. These eight organizations are national youth-serving agencies that are recognized for their positive work with children through athletics and mentorship programs. The NFL National Youth Football Partners receive grants from the NFL Youth Football Fund to help support youth football development and permit thousands of young people to participate in a variety of flag and tackle football programs. In addition, affiliates and branches of these national organizations may apply for grants to develop and support innovative youth football programs on the local level. We have found that this is the most organized and effective way to support football at the grassroots level. ***At this point in time, if you are an independent school, league, team, or other local organization that is not currently affiliated with one of the National Youth Football Partners, the NFL can not currently support you through grants, equipment, uniforms, or other means. Feel free to contact any of the organizations listed below to explore potential partnerships for the future.***

The booers, in most cases, aren't making any sort of judgment on you or the choices you made in your life, they're booing because you're wearing colors than the home team. Really, it's not personal. But the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is in the business of protecting feelings, and they feel like your boos are going to make someone cry. They're considering rules for fan conduct that would, among other things, ban the practice of booing The offenders would be locked up in a cage and subjected to a punishment even scarier than booing... they would be told that they are "U-G-L-Y, and that they ain't go no ability alibi, the ugly. Their mama said they ugly."

Extractions: By BILL FINLEY Published: July 15, 2007 BRICK Skip to next paragraph Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut and New Jersey Go to Complete Coverage » WARREN WOLFs 80th birthday and the start of his 50th season as head football coach at Brick Township High School are rapidly approaching. What keeps Mr. Wolf young, fit and spry? The answer is high school football. I try to be active and I try to stay young and think young, Mr. Wolf said. With being a football coach and an educator all these years, you dont really grow old because you surround yourself with young people. Surround yourself with young people and you start to think young. Physically, you might not be as young as you were, but by staying with young people you stay young in other ways. The formula seems to be working. His career at Brick Township has been long and successful. Mr. Wolf, who is the only football coach the school has ever had and who has the most victories in New Jersey high school football history, has led the Dragons to 13 state sectional titles and 350 wins with only 113 losses and 11 ties. He has had only three losing seasons.
Extractions: Coaching Youth Football Defense by default . In my area, soccer starts at age 7; football, at age 8. Some of the best athletes do well in soccer as seven-year olds, then are reluctant to switch sports when they turn eight. They are not sure they would be good at football, but they know they are good at soccer. High-school coaches should try to make sure their community has a youth-football program equal to the youth soccer program in Another problem for high-school coaches is youth football coaches who drive away good athletes. If you want to know what high school football was like 30 years ago, go to a youth football practice. There you will often see middle-aged men putting nine- and ten-year old boys through a grueling regimen of calisthenics, grass drills, full-speed hitting drills. Many such youth football coaches convince parents and players that football is a sadistic, Bataan Death March sort of experience. These kids choose soccer or water polo as their fall sport. High-school coaches should try to bring their local youth coaches up to date: Use stretching, not calisthenics and grass drills. Use half-speed drills and walk-throughs; not so much full-speed hitting.
