Repertoire Randers Big Band's repertoire is extensive and eclectic, ranging from time-honored classics from the big band libraries of the Basie, Ellington, and Woody Hermann bands to slightly "newer" compositions by the likes of Thad Jones, Stan Kenton, and Bill Holmann, and including charts by many of today's top arrangers - names like Bob Mintzer, Tom Kubis, Bob Florence and many others. A well-rounded band Randers Big Band is a group of many talents - talents honed in an impressive range of performance situations both in Denmark and abroad. You name it, we've played at it - the band has extensive experience with performing at: festivals, festival/theme weeks, jazz luncheons, big band dances/balls, big birthday bashes, company parties, Christmas gatherings, receptions and, of course traditional big band concerts. Through the years, Randers Big Band has played at countless music festivals here at home as well as abroad, and the band has brought its swinging show on the road, too, with tours to Finland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. And in addition to ordinary big band concerts, the band is wont to blow its collective horn at jazz luncheons, big birthday bashes, music festivals, dances/balls, receptions, company parties and - lest we forget, the New Years concert on January 1st , a concert rich in tradition, held each year in Værket Auditorium in Randers. Plus, the band has arranged workshops and performances with a veritable "whoÕs who" of big-name artists from Denmark and abroad.

Quoting from Dr. Robert D'Amato's book, Macular Degeneration, "Current scientific thought suggests that drusen represent the buildup of waste material from cells, which in a perfectly healthy eye would be removed naturally by the body. Just as your morning shower washes away dead cells from your skin, blood flow in a healthy eye washes away waste from photoreceptor cells in the retina. But this process functions abnormally when the eye is diseased with macular degeneration; therefore drusen build up in the retina."

Neumann was the son of a wealthy Jewish mercantile family. In 1878 he entered the university in Heidelberg to study history. In 1880 he switched to Berlin, attending the lectures of Nitsch and the historian Heinrich von Treitschke (1834-1896). He returned to Heidelberg in 1882 to receive his Ph.D. with a dissertation topic on Bernhard von Clairvaux and the beginnings of the second crusade. Neumann went to Basel to hear the lectures Jacob Burckhardt (q.v.), which turned his interest to art history. At the end of the 1880 Neuman began displaying signs of mental illness, depression and long hospital stays. He spent 1882 studying classical art at the Glyptothek in Munich. It was around this time that Neumann also became devoted to modern art. His book Der Kampf um die neue Kunst (The Struggle for New Art) was published in 1892. Neumann's preference was for the classicizing tendencies of artists such as Anselm Feuerbach. Between 1884 and1887 Neumann made several journeys to Italy. P Q R S T U V W X Y Z A Abbè, Ernst Físico alemán cuyas innovaciones teóricas y técnicas condujeron a grandes mejoras en el diseño del microscopio, tal como el uso del condensador, que introdujo en 1870. Descubrió la fórmula óptica ahora llamada condición de Abbè, que es uno de los requerimientos que debe satisfacer una lente para estar libre de las distorsiones ocasionadas por las aberraciones esféricas. En 1863 se unió a la Universidad de Jena, donde fue profesor de física y matemáticas (1870) y director de los observatorios astronómico y meteorológico (1878). En 1866 fue nombrado director de investigación de los laboratorios ópticos Zeiss . Dos años después inventó el sistema de lentes de los microscopios.En 1891 estableció y dotó la Fundación Carl Zeiss para la investigación científica y su aprovechamiento social. Además cinco de años después reconstituyó la sociedad óptica Zeiss en una cooperativa, donde los trabajadores y la universidad participaban en los beneficios. Se destacó, en el terreno humano, por su reconocido altruismo, cediendo sus derechos de invención a la Universidad de Jena y a otras instituciones.
