This book is intended for readers at the Undergraduate level. With the explosion of digital communications and digital media, the need for methods to process digital data is more important than ever. This book will discuss some of the mathematical concepts behind digital processing, it will then discuss some particular algorithms, and finally it will discuss the actual implementations of these techniques in actual hardware and software systems. Many real-world algorithms are based on the techniques described in this book. JPEG images, MP3 songs, MPEG-2 videos, and ZIP files are all processed using digital processing techniques, and all of them will be discussed, at least conceptually. This book will not teach programming, and will probably not even provide much in the way of actual code, so we don't need to worry about language dependance, except where otherwise noted. ADSP circuit is able to differentiate between human-made signals,which are orderly, and noise , which is inherentlychaotic. All communications circuits contain some noise.This is true whether the signals are analog or digital,and regardless of the type of information conveyed. Noise is theeternal bane of communications engineers, who are always strivingto find new ways to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in communications systems.
