Extractions: The record is for the greatest amount of completed balloon sculptures to be made in 1 hour. All balloons must be blown up by mouth. No artificial means may be used (pumps, compressors etc.) All balloon shapes must touch the table in order to count. If the shapes pops or deflates before touching the table, it does not count. A list of at least 30 different shapes must be used. There can be no shapes made in sequence, (i.e. 5 dogs in a row does not count) The attempt must be rigidly timed and videotaped with a clock in the background. There should also be 4 personnel present, 2 counters, 1 judge and a timekeeper. No-else should be around the table. The final figure needs to be verified by the judge, then signed by all personnel present at the table.

Extractions: University of Glasgow Since the mid 1990s archives have greatly expanded their online information and services, yet this is an area of archive development about which we know little. We do not know the range of online services, features and information available, how these vary between archives or how they are delivered. The process of adding to our knowledge is hampered by the lack of a template for identifying and evaluating online archive information and services or a model for understanding their development. Without this information it is difficult to identify development paths, user requirements and appropriate technology, as well as the activities that can be supported or how archives compare to other information providers. It is only by developing and testing such templates and models that we can begin to understand the current state of online archives, how they might develop and the challenges they face. Despite the hyperbole surrounding the development of the World Wide Web, and now Web 2.0, there are surprisingly few models for evaluating the evolution of online services, although criteria to judge 'good' and 'bad' web design proliferate.

Progress is being held back however by the difficulty testing new therapies on human heart tissue, with animal models being only of limited value owing to differences in structure and activity. The only solution in the absence of real human models is to create computerised "in-silico" models that simulate the real heart and enable possible drugs and therapies to be tested without risk to people. Although this is still some way off becoming a reality, substantial progress has been made, and the next steps were plotted at a major workshop held recently by the European Science Foundation. See also: The workshop highlighted how recent progress in imaging technologies was helping heart modellers overcome the big dilemma they have faced up till now actually proving that the models really are an accurate representation of the real human heart. This has been the big "catch 22" of heart modelling, that in order to create a realistic model, you need accurate and extensive data from real hearts for calibration. "Validation of the models is very important, and was raised at the workshop," said Blanca Rodriguez, scientific coordinator of the ESF workshop, and senior cardiac researcher at Oxford University, Europe's leading centre for cardiac modelling. "One of the problems has been that it is much easier to get experimental data from animals than humans."

P3DM integrates peoples knowledge and spatial information (contour lines) to produce stand-alone scale relief models that have proved to be user-friendly and relatively accurate data storage and analysis devices and at the same time excellent communication media. Participatory 3D modelling works best when used jointly with Global Positioning Systems ( GPS ) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in a Participatory GIS (PGIS) context Participatory 3D models are manufactured at village level based on the merger of traditional spatial information (elevation contours) and peoples spatial knowledge ( cognitive maps ). Elevation contours are used as templates for cutting out sheets of carton board of a given thickness (i.e. expressing the vertical scale). Cut-out sheets are progressively superimposed to build the relief.
