Shannon Center for the Performing Arts, in coordination with a number of artists included in the 1999-2000 Shannon Center season, welcomes area elementary school children to the center for a variety of multicultural shows. The season-long program will continue on Friday, October 29, at 11 a.m., with Hawaiian recording artist, Moe Keale. Keale-who will appear in two concerts at the Shannon Center on October 30-has agreed to host the next children's program this semester. This latest program will include over 300 students from Lincoln Elementary School in Whittier, and will feature traditional Hawaiian dance, as well as music and stories by Keale. Past shows this season featured The Magic Beans, Whittier College's theater group for young audiences, in a production of "The Bremen Town Musicians," and classical guitarist Andrew York, sponsored by Target of Santa Fe Springs. Each show saw over 350 children in attendance.
