Mariedi Anders Artists Management Born in Moscow, Russian pianist Alexei Lubimov is counted among todays most Moscow Conservatory and was one of the last students of heinrich neuhaus, http://www.andersmanagement.com/soalubimov.htm
Extractions: The New York Times "...Lubimov proved himself a flexible, inspired partner. For him, selfless following obviously is no more fruitful than aggressive leading. The versatile Muscovite did his own Romantic singing at the keyboard - always warm and sympathetic, virtuousic yet understated, assertive yet poetic. Don't call him an accompanist." Martin Bernheimer January 1995 "In familiar Liszt and Chopin, Lubimov offered more imaginative faithfulness than I have heard in some time, different in innumerable details from the "standard" readings. But every time one thought, "Now, there's something you couldn't do on a modern grand!" It was also something that perhaps only Lubimov would have thought of doing anyway. The sound never seemed miniaturised: the third and fourth Chopin Ballades rose to glorious climaxes, and the three members of the audience who left before the encores missed a magnificent Barcarolle."
Natasha Dukan, Pianist In pianist Natasha Dukan we see a rare combination of passion, intimacy, sensuality, Conservatory in its heyday when heinrich neuhaus roamed the halls), http://www.goucher.edu/physics/dukan/natashaweb.htm
Extractions: A Pianist In pianist Natasha Dukan we see a rare combination of passion, intimacy, sensuality, refinement, a powerful differentiated sound and brilliant technique. Her career roots lie in the last turbulent years of the former Yugoslavia, and her Slavic temperament and fire are always in evidence in her performances. She has the rare capacity to play with utter abandon yet maintain absolute control over the myriad complex elements of pianistic craft which lie behind a truly mature technique. Critics have praised her from Moscow to Maryland and audiences are unanimous in their warm appreciation of her gifts. Critical Response Ronald Broun, criti c for the Washington Post, claimed "Dukan played with [a] refined touch, reveling in Scriabin's exotic sonority and disquieting harmonic trickery her rhythmic pulse was pleasurably elastic, and she threaded limpid legato lines through densely scored commotions."

MUSICAL TALES In the piano class his Professor was wellknown pianist Anna Yesipova, in the piano class was one of the most illustrious Professors - heinrich neuhaus. http://www.vor.ru/English/MTales/tales_065.html
Extractions: It is no secret that many composers began their music career by giving piano lessons, and at times achieved quite impressive results in the performing line of work. Sergei Prokofiev graduated from St.Petersburg Conservatoire in two specializations. In the piano class his Professor was well-known pianist Anna Yesipova, who shone on the major European stages in the early 20th century. Her playing was both poetic and tremulously romantic. However, Prokofiev was nothing like Yesipova: his performing style was distinctly impulsive, unyielding and even aggressive. There was a great degree of irony and blazonry in everything the young pianist did. Not all Conservatoire Professors approved of Sergei Prokofievs artistic style. But they were unanimous in putting him down as a striking personality with a brilliant future ahead. Besides the Piano Department Diploma, this young idoloclast received the Anton Rubinstein prize a superb Bekhstein piano! The critics were not unanimous in their perception of Prokofievs playing. While some raved over the energy and drive displayed by the pianist, others found his style distastefully vulgar. This is what they wrote of Prokofiev the pianist in America: Fingers of steel, wrists of steel, steel muscles, steel shoulders, steel forearms its a steel Trust!
