Prior to her success in Munich, she was a prizewinner in the three other competitions in which she took part, in Oslo (1988), Warsaw (Chopin, 1990) and Sydney (1992). Anna studied music at the Uspensky Music School of Tashkent with Tamara Popovich and in Moscow at the Central Music School and Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Lev Naumov. Since the late 80s she has performed extensively in the former Soviet Union both in recital and with orchestra and has appeared at many major German festivals. She currently performs regularly throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America. Her tour of South America in 1999 was so successful that she was immediately invited back. She recently had to give up her teaching position at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow because she is in so much demand on the international concert circuit.
