My Favorite Composers dinu lipatti (1917 1950). He is a wonderful romantic pianist, but he playedMozart so well, sounds just like angel. I got several recordings of him, http://uwstudentweb.uwyo.edu/H/HUIYUANM/music.html
Extractions: Of course he is my number one! His keyboard works, written for the piano (harpsichord), organ, clavierchord... are numerous. I just love all of them. I played his , and also some from the famous Well-Tempered Clavier . Since I switched from the piano to the organ, I played some of his short pieces, from some hymns. You can't imagine his talent unless you take pain to practise and analyze them! Regarding listening, I favor his cantatas, as well as St.Mattew Passion, St.John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, B Minor Mass... And his organ works, (most of which are still too advanced for me to play), are also extraodinary at his time. I like his 6 trio sonatas (BWV 525BWV 530) most. I'm never terribly interested in Post-Romantic composers, but this guy is an exception. I love all his works, including all the tremendous symphonies and lieders. His music is so penetrating to me, I find myself in the complicated but alluring melodies. One thing interesting to notice is, people who dislike him really don't want to lisen to him, but who love him are really obssesed by him. I am a big fan of Mahler, and he is the greatest symphonic composer to me, no matter how many people critisize his confusing structures.:) He is definitely hailed by all the listeners, no matter you are a musician or a person doesn't care classical music. I grew up with his piano sonatas, in which there is full of energy and happniess, so pure, so delicated, you can't tell how hard his life was. And those concertos written for the piano, violin, wind instruments, also chamber music, etc., wow, how could this guy write so much? And he was said to be a party animal!
