Extractions: Once again the album isn't only a guitar album but a CD focused on the beautiful sound of each instrument as drums, bass, piano, keyboards and guitar. The rhythm section is powerful and melodic and the solos played at unison by guitar/keys seem to slide on the rhythm. The guitar solos are played with the idea of putting together shred and melody... anyway music doesn't need words to be explained...

Extractions: Well, things always get easier after you get more experienced in the field as well as in this case the recording process or song-writing process would be much easier to handle or deal with. However, there is always another they say (new thing) that we have to consider and learn and there are as well some things that get more difficult and challenging.. You know it's very hard to do- to judge. I mean everyone is so different, for example: there are musicians- singer in this case that are simply incredible and they don't have enough recognition like with other artist's or many of them. They also are some who don't have a talent at all but are in the music market and keeping the position occupied where some more talented singer or musician in general should have possessed.

The Artension lineup has changed slightly and now comprises Vitalij Kuprij (piano and keyboards), Roger Staffelbach (lead and rhythms guitars), John West (vocals), Shane Gaalaas (drums) and John Onder (bass). This new CD carries on along the same path as the previous CDs. You know what to expect from these guys and they are masters in their field, i.e. contemporary neo-classical metal combined with progressive influences.
Extractions: Really nice symphonic rock sounds from Sweden. As you notice the members of Kaipa on the cd like Roine Stolt and Jonas Reingold, this music appeals to the fans of Scandinavian prog rock like The Flower Kings and British Prog Rock like Yes with good old days fashion (of course I meant positively). I am really impressed with the keyboard works by Hans Lundin who created all materials on Notes from the Past. Totally dreamy and symphonic heaven, due to keyboard-oriented sounds like mellotron, organ, and analog synth. It seems that Notes from the Past is Kaipa's kind of reunion work, so Kaipa fans enjoy this nostalgic and epic sounds. Symphonic prog fans will love this one. top Believe or not, Siege Perilous is my favorite Kamelot 's album. Well, I do not say Siege Perilous' sound production is superb for comparision with their later albums like The Fourth Legacy . Somehow, Siege Perilous appeals my tastes better than any other Kamelot albums (unless I will find attaracting factors from their other albums). Before talking about the music itself in Kamelot, I was always impressed with the artwork with King throne things featured on the cover, which is really nice eye-catch for me. This is merely my opinion,.....after they feature mysterious beatiful women and mucho-men on the artworks with Euro-style power metal sounds, my curiosity toward Kamelot is slowly fading out somehow....it is quite strange phenomenon. In any way, Siege Perilous' production might not be perfect, but this album has nice symphonic prog metallic tunes with

He was a member of German melodic prog metal band, DREAMSCAPE.
