Extractions: The winners of 3rd International Web Concert Hall Competition Winner - Denis Shapovalov (Cello - Russia) Interview Performance Denis Shapovalov won recognition for his exceptional gift at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition (1998), taking the 1 st prize and a gold medal as the unanimous choice of the jury. With this victory he confirmed his excellent talent, which had been marked with a special award "Best Hope" given to him at the International Chamber Music Competition in Australia 3 years before. While studying at the Special Music College of the Moscow State Conservatory, Denis Shapovalov won a prize of the International Charity Foundation "New Names". This award gave him an opportunity to display his outstanding skills in numerous European countries, performing with the Moscow Student Orchestra. The same period he made his debut at the most prestigious Russian concert stage Big Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory.
