H.S. became in 1964 a member of The Vogel Brothers Sextet and worked at the same time as composer and soloist with The Danish Radio Jazz Group (big band). He participated as composer and soloist on the LP "The Radio Jazz Group" in 1965 together with Erik Moseholm and Ray Pitts and received same year the jazz-legacy from the Ministry of Culture. In 1969 H.S. participated in Bremen (Germany) in the recording of the LP "European Echoes" with an international orchestra conducted by Manfred Schoof, and later same year in Baden-Baden in the recording of the LP "Gettin`to Know`ya All" with an international orchestra conducted by Lester Bowie. In the end of the `60s and the beginning of the `70s, H.S. worked with among others Peter Brötzmann and Peter Kowald at concerts in Germany, Willem Breuker, Han Bennink and Misha Mengelberg at concerts in Holland and Belgium, John Stevens, Evan Parker, Derek Bailey and Paul Rutherford at concerts in Holland and Germany, Irene Schweizer and Pierre Favre at concerts in Copenhagen and with Claude Delcloo at concerts in Paris. H.S. toured in Denmark with John Tchicai, Misha Mengelberg, Han Bennink and Pierre Dørge, and worked on the Danish scene with Johnny Dyani, Giorgio Musoni, Ivan Krill, Michael Schou, Steen Claesson, Jesper Zeuten, Pierre Dørge and Lasse Lunderskov. Recorded with Burnin Red Ivanhoe 1969, Tom Bailey 1971 and Mickey Baker and Delta Blues Band on the LP "Tales From The Underdog" in 1975 with Niels Harrit, Holger Laumann and Flemming Quist Møller.

Hun var prisvinder i Rising Stars Series i Australien og modtog Ann McGarry Award for pianister. I 1999-2001 var Tonya ansat på Boston Conservatory som lærerassistent og akkompagnatør/repetitør. Although the crisp sound of Glenn Gould's piano is more exciting, this has remained my personal favorite. I soon began enjoying the study of fugue sets. Composers who write sets of fugues, like Bach and Hindemith, seem to take the form more seriously than composers who write fugues only to prove they can. In the intervening years I have amassed a large collection of recordings of fugues and fugue sets, and have kept notes about fugues mentioned in the textbooks which have apparently never been recorded. I offer the following fugue-ography to other music lovers in Web World. Please help me grow this list until it becomes a real resource for musical historians.

He was an estimable composer of serious inclination, fluent articulation and profusely productive (there are more than 24 symphonies and at least seven piano concertos). It is regrettable that his music never travelled much beyond the bounds of his native Denmark. Ole Schmidt conducted his symphonies 3 (24 August 1979), 4 (15 April 1981) and 5 (30 August 1979) with, respectively the BBCSO, BBC Scottish and BBC Northern. Otherwise you may well know him only from the Turnabout LP of his Symphonic Variations Anker Blyme gives signs of being an authoritative interpreter. He has worked with Bentzon on many occasions and recorded Bentzon's two piano music with the composer. Blyme has also recorded four of the seven piano concertos. Bentzon was himself a pianistic of great technical and artistic resource and perception. He was much in demand and gave the premiere of Holmboe's Suono da Bardo - one of the foundation stones of Danish and European 20th century music. The Bentzon
Extractions: Probably one of the most prolific composers of all time, Niels Viggo Bentzon sports an amazing work-list that includes music of all types and for all occasions. Let me list a few. There are 22 symphonies, 15 piano concertos, 4 violin concertos, three for cello; many string quartets, trios and quintets and in all, not far off 600 opus numbered works. Da Capo has recorded several of his symphonies and some chamber music but he is, on the whole, poorly represented in the catalogue. Whether this disc will attract converts I am not sure.
