Relativistic quantum mechanics, based on the Dirac equation has to be to get accurate descriptions of the electronic structure. This project will study the scattering of electrons from such atoms using methods based upon the relativistic Dirac equation. This intensely computational project which require initial investigations of different methods for solving the Dirac equation, and then exploiting them to do electron-atom scattering calculations.
