For us historians of life sciences it houses manuscript collections central to understanding the synthesis period in American evolutionary studies. In 15 years visiting, I can't think of a time when a box of materials from one of the principals Dobzhansky, Mayr, Wright, Simpson, Dunn, or the like was absent from the Manuscripts Room.
