In June 2002, we convened the 'Tunnel Vision: Women, Mining and Communities' forum in Melbourne, Australia and later produced an anthology of the same name.

Traditionally it has contributed about half of the Country's export revenue. After over twenty years of isolation from direct foreign investment, the mining scene is changing. Political and economic stability have brought renewed interest in Peru as a resource rich investment opportunity for foreign companies.
