     Extractions: September 2005 Erstmalig wurde eine numerische Simulation mit dem gekoppelten Chemie-Klima-Modell E39/C des DLR Instituts für Physik der Atmosphäre durchgeführt. Sie überdeckt die Jahre zwischen 1960 und 2000. Natürliche und anthropogene Störungen der Atmosphäre wurden dem Modell dabei so realistisch wie möglich an Hand von Beobachtungen vorgegeben: nämlich die Meeresoberflächentemperaturen, der Anstieg der Konzentrationen von Treibhausgasen und Fluorkohlenwasserstoffe (FCKW) sowie der Stickoxidemissionen werden dem Atmosphärenmodell. Zusätzlich wurden der 11-jährige Sonnenaktivitätszyklus, die Effekte großer Vulkanausbrüche, sowie die äquatoriale quasi-zweijährige Oszillation der stratosphärischen Zonalwindkomponente im Modell berücksichtigt. Trotz aller Vorgaben besitzt das Modell aber noch genügend Freiheitsgrade, um dynamische und chemische Prozesse und Veränderungen selbstkonsistent zu berechnen. Generell zeigen die Ergebnisse der Modellstudie überraschend gute Übereinstimmung mit Beobachtungen, sowohl was den mittleren Zustand dynamischer und chemischer Größen angeht, als auch saisonale und Jahr-zu-Jahr Veränderungen. Langzeitige Veränderungen (Trends) werden durch E39/C gut wiedergegeben. Diese Ergebnisse schaffen die Grundlage für belastbarere Abschätzungen der zukünftigen Entwicklung des Klimas und der chemischen Zusammensetzung der Atmosphäre.
