Thursday, February 6, 2003 "Ultimately, I would rather be accompanying her than anyone else - we anticipate each other's energies without having to communicate. I know her best," said pianist Dorita Berger on her upcoming recital with her daughter/violinist Sabrina Ann Berger. "I used to have the usual anxiety as a performer and then be nervous for her at the same time, but I don't do that now," added Dorita Berger. "She is in charge of her own responsibilities, and we are in charge of the music as equals." Billing themselves as "Two Generations - The Berger Duo," this mother and daughter team will perform "Music of My People" at 7 p.m. Sunday to benefit the Aleph Bet Preschool at Beth Israel Synagogue in Norwalk. Focusing on music of Jewish composers and of the eastern European tradition, the Bergers add a curious twist to what could be a very conventional program. In addition to performing on her acoustic violin, Sabrina Berger will also introduce the audience to the enhanced sounds of her five-string electric violin.
