Click to enlarge Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory Open House Sep 16, 2005 - Since it's in my neighbourhood, globally speaking, I thought I'd mention that the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, which is located in Southeast British Columbia, will be having an open house on Saturday, September 24. They've got a 26-metre radio dish, and many other instruments. It would be a great opportunity to see the equipment and meet radio astronomers, so if you live nearby, put this on your calendar. (Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend... maybe next year).

Buy Games at Just Adventure+ The Unofficial, Unexpurgurated, Unassuming Complete History of Sierra's Space Quest By Adam Rodman Back in 1985, Sierra On-Line was a small company based in Seattle that developed adventure games. After the surprising success of Roberta Williams' game, King's Quest, two of the Sierra members that had worked on it approached CEO Ken Williams with a proposition: could they make a humorous science-fiction adventure game based on the trials of an intergalactic janitor? Their names: Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe, a programmer and an artist, respectively. Ken was, to say the least, skeptical. So the two valiant programmers put together a demo, which would later become the first four levels of Space Quest 1: The Sarien Encounter. Scott programmed, Mark did the art, and Ken Williams absolutely loved the demo.

The Learning Space
Friends of TLS,
During the last eight years The Learning Space has played a strong role in improving the use of technology in schools and classrooms throughout Washington. The last two years have been financially difficult due to the economic decline both locally and nationally. TLS continued to operate during the last two years through the dedication and sacrifices of our board and staff.
Due to the continued shortfall in revenues and contributions, The Learning Space Board of Directors has elected to close the doors of The Learning Space effective October 29, 2004.

Rated B. On one hand you've got great visuals, fantastic music, and a disco ball full of positive energy. But the short amount of play time, slight control problems and zero multi-player really take away from the experience.

Dreamcast Review

Dance/Rhythm Players Difficulty Easy Review Date Publisher Sega
Dancin'...Dancin'...DANCIN'...She's a dancin' machine!
Groove evening viewers! Tonight we've got a special show planned for you, starring Sega's latest dance creation, Space Channel 5 . Many of you have already heard the buzz. Some think that it's going to be the next "must have" for the Dreamcast; others believe that it's just another cockamamie dance game. Well tonight, the rumors go down and the truth goes up. Just how good is Space Channel 5 If you're looking for a game with attitude, you'll definitely find it here, as Space Channel 5 has more attitude than a pretentious, ego-trippin' Broadway thespian. The main character, Ulala, is a pinnacle of style. With a faboo pink do and a plastic orange skirt, she fights the evil Morolians with dual "lasers" and dances to save the humans who have fallen under their control. The basic gameplay is really simple and unlike dance games that have come before it. The Morolians do a little dance consisting of D-pad and button pushes and Ulala must mimic them. That's it. It won't take a degree from U.C. Berkeley to figure out how to play, but a sense of rhythm is more important than taking your daily vitamins.
