Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM
The Capability Maturity Model for Software (also known as the CMM and SW-CMM) has been a model used by many organizations to identify best practices useful in helping them increase the maturity of their processes. In 2000, the SW-CMM was upgraded to CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration). The SEI no longer maintains the SW-CMM model, its associated appraisal methods, or training materials, nor does the SEI offer SW-CMM training. For more information about the sunset policy established by the SEI to help SW-CMM users upgrade to CMMI, see How Will Sunsetting of the Software CMM Be Conducted? If your organization has not yet upgraded to CMMI, refer to the book The Capability Maturity Model: Guidelines for Improving the Software Process for more information. Released in 1995, this book is the authoritative reference for SW-CMM Version 1.1. It is published by the Addison Wesley publishing company and is available as part of the SEI Series on Software Engineering.
Software CMM Model Documents
The SW-CMM consists of two SEI technical reports. You can download these reports from the SEI Web site from the links provided below:

Cleanroom Software Engineering How many times have you heard someone say "Do it right the first time"? That's the overriding philosophy of cleanroom software engineering - a process that emphasizes mathematical verification of correctness before program construction commences and certification of software reliability as part of the testing activity. The bottom line: extremely low failure rates that would be difficult or impossible to achieve using less formal methods. The following topic categories are presented: Cleanroom Resources General Information Methods and Tools Books Cleanroom Resources Cleanroom Software Engineering Resources - 1 An excellent source of information and resources for Cleanroom Software Engineering has been prepared by CleanSoft. Cleanroom Software Engineering Resources - 2 A useful list of cleanroom resoruces has been prepared by DoD's DACS. HOME GLOSSARY ABOUT US SWEBOK ... VOLUNTEER
Welcome Welcome to SE Online! This new IEEE Computer Society resource is a source of practical Software Engineering (SE) knowledge. This is a fundamental difference with other web resources. We give you expert-selected information . SE Online is more than a search engine. We are not paid to get one of the first places in our lists of information. All the information you find at SE Online is peer-reviewed. SE Online will also feature content from IEEE Digital Library for free each month. On SE Online front page you will be able to find selected articles from IEEE Software and IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering . Each of these articles is a $19 value which we will offer for free as a service to the SE field. However, SE Online is truly a work in progress. The current state is just a starting point and there are a lot of planned changes and improvements coming. Although SEOnline is supported by the IEEE Computer Society, the information you can find here is non-exclusionary IEEE-CS so other SE sources are included and we will freely cite competitor's resources, products or services. This new and free online resource is aimed at professional software engineers, planned as a continuing contribution to the growing SE community.
