    The The Food and Nutrition (FAN) Club food drive for victims of Hurricane Katrina raised approximately 300 pounds (~35 grocery bags) of food for people in need. The food was delivered to the Manna Food Center which serves underprivileged residents of Montgomery County. Here is a picture of FAN Club President Nasim Adimi and member Shanna Bernstein delivering the food. Also pictured is Amy Gabala, Exective Director of Manna Food Center. Please join us on Thursday, September 22 for the first meeting of the Food and Nutrition Club . The meeting will be held in 3112 Marie Mount Hall. We will discuss our plans for the year's activities.     By Ben Harder Special to The Washington Post Tuesday, August 9, 2005; Page HE01 Chocolate maker Mars Inc. says its pipeline is full of healthful products containing compounds from the plant that gives chocolate its unique flavor. Already, the company sells one cocoa bar that it claims has "proven heart-health benefits." The Hershey Co., meanwhile, plans to launch an "extra dark" chocolate bar this September that will flaunt its potentially beneficial cocoa content. Smaller chocolatiers tout the same ingredient in a growing portfolio of products. So: Chocolate is a proven health food?
