Choson Architecture
K orean traditional architecture is characterized by its harmony with nature. It has developed through the assimilation of various cultural e]ements learned from foreign countries, or better learned from their human brethren, Since antiquity Koreans have developed a special inclination towards nature, adapting themselves to the environment, interacting with the changing tide of human thought and ideologies in the open arena of human civilization. From time immemorial, Koreans have held the belief that the heavenly world is located in the high blue sky, representing the blissfully brilliant and eternal utopia. According to such thinking In regard to the world and the universe and because of their serene and cozy natural environment, Koreans have formulated their own traditional architecture, Such characteristics are rustic, yet they gracefully harmonized with the surrounding nature. T he origin of Korean architectural traditions may be traced back to Northeastern Asian culture, namely the Scytho-Siberian origins, which was the cradle of Oriental culture. In primitive ages it was customary to honor the dead with sumptuous burial artifacts. The belief in animistic worship and in the eternity of the soul can still be witnessed in Korea among the remains of dolmens, which are the tombs of primitive people.

Call for Articles
2006 New York Conference, Call for Papers
During the past twenty-five years, interest in the ordinary architecture of North America has grown rapidly and in diverse directions. Scholars and field professionals now apply the term "vernacular architecture" to traditional domestic and agricultural buildings, industrial and commercial structures, twentieth-century suburban houses, settlement patterns and cultural landscapes. The Vernacular Architecture Forum was formed in 1980 to encourage the study and preservation of these informative and valuable material resources. If you are interested in learning more about vernacular architecture in North America (including the United States, Canada, Mexico and the West Indies) and in building associations with hundreds of kindred souls from all parts of the continent and the world, then you should join the Vernacular Architecture Forum today

Chart reflects the currently approved SCSI3 project family. All projects are inT10, except Fibre Channel is in T11 and 1394 is in IEEE.
SCSI Standards Architecture (*)
(*) This chart reflects the currently approved SCSI project family. T10 is responsible for all projects, except: IEEE is responsible for IEEE 1394; T11 responsible for Fibre Channel; Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is responsible for iSCSI and the Internet; and InfiniBand Trade Association is responsible for InfiniBand (tm). Note that the original third-generation SCSI standards used the name SCSI-3 to distinguish them from SCSI-2. Subsequent SCSI standards have dropped the '-3' from their names because it was cumbersome. So, when the SCSI-3 Architecture Model (SAM) was revised, it became the SCSI Architecture Model - 2 (SAM-2). While the individual components of the SCSI family continue to evolve, there is no SCSI-4 project envisioned. DOCUMENT LINKS Command Sets:

IAWA Special Collections University Libraries CAUS ... Virginia Tech
The International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) , established in 1985, is a joint program of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and the University Libraries at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). The purpose of the archive is to document the history of women's involvement in architecture by collecting, preserving, storing, and making available to researchers the professional papers of women architects, landscape architects, designers, architectural historians and critics, and urban planners, and the records of women's architectural organizations, from around the world. The IAWA focuses primarily on collecting the papers of those who practiced at a time when there were few women in the field (before the 1950's). The IAWA collects this information to fill serious gaps in the availability of primary research materials for architectural, women's, and social history research. The IAWA also collects books, biographical information, and published materials as part of its mission to act as a clearinghouse of information about all women in architecture, past and present.

Architecture The Turks produced masterpieces of architecture during the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. The monumental buildings created by Turkish architects since the eleventh century have a distinguished place in the heritage of world architecture. The Selimiye and the Suleymaniye Mosques built by Mimar (Architect) Sinan, who is the symbol of Ottoman architecture, are masterworks reflecting the degree of maturity which the Ottoman architecture had reached in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in dealing with space and mass compositions. In fact, classical Ottoman style puts forth universal leaps and values. It is possible to see the most beautiful examples
of the white colored Mediterranean architecture
along the coastal regions in Turkey.
