More specifically, analysis can reveal, among other things, culturally derived understandings of the body, ideals of physical beauty and prowess, concepts of racial ability (both mental and physical), notions of gender-appropriate behavior, and critical aspects of group (local, national, ethnic, etc.) identity formation. Course Requirements: This course will be run as an undergraduate seminar. There will be regular lectures on primary topics and concepts; however, a significant amount of class time will also be devoted to discussion. Attendance and participation is required.
