Impotence drugs and sports go hand in hand. : Thanks to a snippet on the makers of Levitra , the newest challenger to Viagra, signing a sponsorship with the NFL, I stumbled upon this Ad Age article that lists the pro sports and which impotence drug they are sponsored by. Eli Lilly + ICOS/CIALIS = PGA; Bayer + GlaxoSmithKline/LEVITRA = NFL; Pfizer/VIAGRA = MLB, Nascar. What about the NBA? MLS? Every sport needs to get on the hard-on drug bandwagon! Two former sports stars have been implicated in a drug ring that was busted by police after raids on properties in inner city Auckland. Police and custom officials arrested six men on a variety of drug dealing offences on Tuesday morning. Police said it's likely two high profile former sportsmen will also be charged in connection with the case. The sportsmen have been named in court documents but their identities are suppressed while police investigations continue.
One is identified as a joint offender in supplying cocaine and cannabis and the other is named as a buyer of ecstasy. Judge Thomas Everitt made an interim order to suppress the identities of 10 people who either appeared in court or were mentioned in court documents. He said the suppression would stand until they were before court. The six appeared in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday facing charges involving cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine and cannabis.

Welcome General Public Practitioners Problem Users ... Books DRUGS IN SPORT IS WORLDWIDE PROBLEM, NOT JUST U.S. BY ROBERT S. WEINER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS, WHITE HOUSE NATIONAL DRUG POLICY OFFICE 1995-2001 When US Drug Czar Barry McCaffrey first insisted in 1999 at the IOC's Drug Summit that the Olympic anti-doping program be "independent, open, accountable, no-notice, and retroactive," at first there was ire from the Olympic leadership. McCaffrey "had problems in his own country", said IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch. "Plainly wrong, " wrote Dick Pound, the new World Anti-Doping Agency head. Then there was support. McCaffrey built respect and even friendship from both Samaranch and Pound of Canada because, at last, they saw that drug scandals would go on and on unless the world took strong action. An independent and thorough effort against drugs was "a good deal," General McCaffrey, a Gulf War hero with no special interest ties, asserted, because the Olympics could focus on sports. The old cover-ups hiding drug use were against everyone's interest, McCaffrey rightly proclaimed. We are now, once again, in one of the worst sports drug scandals in history. The new designer steroid THG is claiming some of the world's best athletes - U.S. stars including Regina Jacobs, British sprint champion Dwaine Chambers, and who knows how many others from various countries. Dozens of athletes from all sports are being subpoenaed in front of a grand jury.
