Our 2000 and 2002 Men's Lacrosse NCAA Division II Championships, as well as our nationally ranked women's lacrosse team, and our strong softball, and men's and women's basketball programs speak to our desire to win . Other than men's lacrosse, swimming, and wrestling, Limestone competes in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference, Division II. Our athletic program offers our students more than just the opportunity to win. Our flexibility coupled with our smaller student body numbers offer our students unparalleled opportunities to participate in team sports. In fact, many of our students play two sports. At Limestone, we have an excellent athletic complex which includes:

As Monarchs chase WNBA crown, team and league see attendance fall
As the Monarchs return to Sacramento tied 1-1 with the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA Finals, they are discovering it's harder to win an audience than reach the championship level. It's not PC to write this, and it's certainly an invitation to be called insensitive, chauvinistic or a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal. Although the Monarchs' emergence as Western Conference champions may have shocked experts, John Whisenant isn't surprised. With a team picked to finish 11th in a 13-team league, he said he expected to be in the WNBA Finals. As coach and general manager, he remodeled his roster with seven new players this season. The result: A 25-9 record, league-best 15-2 mark at home and conference title - all Sacramento milestones. A's notes: Normally cool, Macha is showing much emotion
