SOME TIPS FOR PRINTING:
The site has ads in various places. To print the page without printing the ad: 1) click once on the image and then click print. On most browsers this tells the computer to print only the frame with the image in it. if that doesn't work... 2) try right clicking on the image and choose OPEN FRAME IN NEW WINDOW if that doesn't work... look at the URL (the website address) in the location bar. It will end with the extension .HTM Type an L onto the end of it so that it reads .HTML and hit return. You'll now have the image without the ad. If you're still stuck, check out our Print Help section... once you sort out how to print one of our coloring pages, the method will be the same for all the rest.

Winter's Own Sports Under the pastoral beauty of a blanket of fresh-fallen snow, the outdoors beckons. For a while, winter doesn't feel quite so cold, and people of all ages feel a sense of youthful excitement about bundling up and getting outside.
From the downhill rush of snow skiing or sledding, to rough-and-tumble ice hockey or placid casual skating, winter provides a fast track for fun and cardiovascular health. In the absence of long, sunny days, winter sports provide the exercise active Americans otherwise couldn't get without being cooped up in a gym. High speeds attained on skis and skates make for exhilarating sports but expose the body to injuries. Healthy feet and ankles, which act together as accelerators, steering, brakes, and shock absorbers in winter sports, are not only crucial to success in competition but also help keep the body upright and out of the emergency room. Any problems with the foot or ankle could have serious repercussions for winter sports participants.
Preventing Cold Feet Without warm, dry clothes, any wintertime outdoor activity is a potential health risk. Proper footwearinsulated, waterproof boots or shoesis as important as coats, hats, or gloves in the outdoors during the winter.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 16, 1973 Release # 73-046
CPSC Issues Safety Tips On Winter Sports
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dee 16) Winter wonderland means fun for millions, but for 183,000 Americans winter also may mean serious sports-related injuries.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that 84,000 skiers, 30,000 skaters, 30,000 hockey players, 20,000 sledders and tobogganers, and 19,000 snowmobilers will require hospital emergency room treatment for injuries this year.
Proper and well-fitting equipment, physical conditioning, common sense, and good sportsmanship could eliminate some accidents. Injury data compiled by the Commission reveal major hazard patterns associated with various winter sports and indicate suggestions about how other accidents also might be avoided.
Skiing . Investigations of skiing accidents show that injuries occurred when bindings did not release and when the skier was going too fast, lost control, or hit a mogul. A number of accidents happened when the skier was tired.
Commission recommendations to skiers include:
  • Take lessons from an expert. Studies show that beginners are hurt more frequently, so advancement is desirable.

The product line mix for the 2008 winter season will be a very basic and to the point inventory. Our #1 year round priority is our coffee and espresso bar/drive thru. When the weather permits, we have a full selection of snowboards for both adults and children of all ages. Our ski selection is geared more towards older children and adults. In the spring, summer and fall we are also a full service bicycle shop. We certainly have our hands full changing with the seasons and with the addition of our incredibly successful coffee bar.
