edit Academics
Carson Graham was ranked 191st in the Fraser Institute annual ranking of schools in 2004/05 . Although this may seem low, this is not a good reflection of the students academics in the school. This is because this study only focuses on the students test scores. For an example of how this could result in a misinterpretation of a schools academic level is this: one school could be teaching things that are above the students comprehension level, the students do not understand the subject matter, and thus get low test scores, giving the impression the the schools academics are low. Then another school could be teaching easy subject matter that the students understand, thus giving them high test scores, and the appearance that they are the better school where in reality, the other school previously mentioned is a better school. Carson Graham has a wide variety of electives, the most in its district, making it easy for the students to look into what career they would desire to do later in life.

The ordinance on mandatory physical education in elementary schools entered into force on 28 October 1987. Today, the content and scope of mandatory sports education are governed by the school level curricula. With the exception of the first two years of secondary school, in which the number of sports lessons each week was increased to four as part of the International Year of Youth, all levels of mandatory schooling offer three weekly lessons of sports education. In primary school, physical education is generally taught by the class teachers, while specialized teachers are generally employed at the secondary level. 30 sports instructors are currently employed in Liechtenstein schools. Additional sports promotion programs
Voluntary school sports were introduced on a temporary basis in December 1979 and permanently in March 1983. The currently valid regulation, revised according to experiences gained, entered into force on 5 October 1993. The regulation contains responsibilities, objectives, and organizational conditions of voluntary school sports.

Why is it today that everyone seems to think that a high school football star is so much greater than another student out on the streets feeding the homeless? I'll tell you why; because many students are making high school sports too big of an interest in their lives. Most everyone seems to think that it is so great when a schoolmate tackles another person to the ground or catches a ball. Don't misunderstand me; I think that it is okay for someone to develop skills that benefit society, but why should so many waste their time and get a tremendous amount of recognition for doing things that animals can do? Play in things such as sports is good in moderation, but if it becomes the most important thing in someone's life, then it deprives him/her of focusing on many of the better things in life. Instead of using every minute of their free time to train for sports, students could work on becoming more educated (is that not what they are supposed to be in school for?) and spending time with friends and loved ones. Like many other things in high school, sports can be beneficial if taken in moderation.

Impacts were felt across state school provision which included physical education. The trend toward the development of schools with "specialisms" starting under the Conservatives were, in 1997 continued by the newly elected Labour government in the form of "Specialist Sports Colleges" connected to their feeder primary schools and other secondary provision via the programme called "school sports co-ordinators" (SSCos). (students should also be cognisant of the impact of the conservative 'Raising the Game' sport policy document, as detailing some of the potentials of physical education and sport development provision) The Specialist Sports Colleges and School Sports Co-ordinators initiatives were originally conceived as developing wider opportunities in some of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK (see Bringing Britain Together, A

The Case for High School Activities...
    Introduction
At a cost of only one to three percent (or less in many cases) of an overall school's budget, high school activity programs are one of the best bargains around. It is in these vital programs - sports, music, speech, drama, debate - where young people learn lifelong lessons as important as those taught in the classroom.
Unfortunately, there appears to be a creeping indifference toward support for high school activity programs by the general public. This neglect undermines the educational mission of our schools and the potential prosperity of our communities.
There is no better time than today to assert "The Case for High School Activities." Education and community leaders across the nation must be made aware of the facts contained in this material. From interscholastic sports to music, drama and debate, activities enrich a student's high school experience, and the programs must be kept alive.
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and its membership believe that interscholastic sports and fine arts activities promote citizenship and sportsmanship. They instill a sense of pride in community, teach lifelong lessons of teamwork and self-discipline and facilitate the physical and emotional development of our nation's youth.
