    Kennewick Softball Recreation
Softball is a popular community sport that attracts both men and women, as well as children, and there are several softball leagues available to owners of Kennewick Real Estate. Softball is somewhat similar to baseball, but there are some key distinctions. Community softball leagues, such as those found in Kennewick Wa, can help foster a sense of community, as well as providing Kennewick homeowners a chance to get some exercise while having fun.

There are three types of softball: slow pitch, fast pitch and modified pitch. Fast pitch is considered to be pitcher-friendly, while slow pitch tends to lend an advantage to the batter. Modified pitch doesn’t place any limitations on ball speed, but does set forth certain requirements.
Kennewick Real Estate is More Than Property, It’s a Community
There are several Slow Pitch Softball leagues available to Kennewick real estate buyers. These include women’s, men’s, children’s and co-ed softball leagues. Slow pitch is designed to make it easier to hit the ball, making it popular among younger or less experienced players. The ball is smaller and denser than fast-pitch balls, allowing for harder, longer hits. For this reason, slow pitch fields are usually much larger than fast softball pitch diamonds, with the standard homeplate to centerfield distance being 300 feet. Fast softball pitch gives an edge to the pitcher, with pitch speeds often reach 70mph or more. Pitching style in fast softball pitch games in quite close to those found in baseball, with the major difference being that softball pitches are thrown underhand, as opposed to the overhand throw in baseball. The ball is also larger and less dense, making it harder to hit the ball. To compensate, fast pitch diamonds are generally smaller than in slow pitch, with the standard distance between centerfield and homeplate being 200 feet.

Generals President Hall of Fame Bound By Harry L. Marsh PETERSBURG, VA- No pitcher who ever faced Larry Toombs ever questioned his ability to beat you with the bat, just ask ASA Hall of Famer Ty Stofflet or the legendary Eddie Feigner, of The King and His Court.
Toombs will be honored Saturday night, Nov. 17, when he will be inducted into the Central Virginia ASA Hall of Fame. The annual induction banquet will be held at the Expressions Restaurant in the Cultural Arts Center in Richmond.
The Petersburg product compiled a .343 lifetime batting average, playing against some of the top teams in the United States and Canada. Former Hopewell competitor and Legion teammate Paul Powers recruited him to join the Hopewell VFW, where he played with other Central Virginia Hall of Famers Shakey Jacobs and Billy Covington. They played many games at Riverside Park in Hopewell where the local fans loved fast-pitch softball.
With several Tri-City products on the Fox Hill team, a top-level ASA fast-pitch tournament was played in Petersburg for several summers. In the first big ASA Tournament at Lee Park, Toombs hit four home runs, batted over .400, and was named MVP in his hometown.

Softball Performance Improvement Collection: Tips for Playing First base
Softball Performance Improvement Collection: Tips For Playing First Base
First base is different from the other infield positions in several ways. The largest difference is that you're involved in nearly every ball hit to an infielder. You're required to catch balls that may or may not be thrown accurately and you're expected to make difficult "scoops" look routine. You'll do less throwing than the other infielders but when you do throw, it won't usually be an easy play and will need to be accurate.
Start by positioning yourself correctly. Remember that if a ground ball is hit to the second baseman, third baseman, pitcher or shortstop, they're going to be throwing it to you very soon. As soon as a ground ball is hit to someone other than you, quickly make your way to first base and position yourself with your foot opposite your glove hand (i.e., right foot if you catch with left hand and are thus "right-handed" and the other way around for lefties) against the edge of the base. Do not put your foot on top of the base or you'll end up with a broken ankle when the runner spikes you.
When awaiting the pitch from your pitcher, play a little deeper than the base if it's a right-handed hitter and a few steps further back for a left-handed hitter. Remember not to stray too far from the base, though, since you'll need to be able to get there quickly. If you're left-handed, play a bit closer to the foul line since anything hit down the line will be a "backhand" play for you. Conversely, if you're right-handed, you can play "off the line" a bit more since balls hit down the line will be easier for you to snag since your glove hand will be nearer to them.

For Sale: Original Miken Ultra II slow pitch softball bat, model MSU2 and made in USA. Arguably one of the best softball bat ever made outside of the original grey Ultra I. 34/27, but if you know these bats the 27oz swings more like a 26oz. Brand new in wrapper and never used. I already have two of the same bats in my collection that are just sitting so really don't need the third one to keep them company. Although it has the ASA 2000 stamp on the barrel, unfortunately as many people are aware this bat is so hot out of the wrapper it is pretty much not legal to use anywhere that I know of unless you play in a non-ASA or USSSA sanctioned league; or if you simply just want to collect one of these bad boys. Asking $225 and not interested in trades of any kind unless you happen to have a non-modified 1993 CHP Mustang in unmolested original condition...
Thanks for looking and please email with any questions.
