Les pratiquants (les judoka ) portent une tenue en coton renforc©e appel©e judogi , souvent appel©e   tort kimono , qui est le nom g©n©rique de la tenue traditionnelle japonaise . Le judogi est g©n©ralement blanc, mais pour faciliter la distinction entre les combattants dans les comp©titions, un judoka peut avoir un judogi bleu   tous les niveaux de comp©titions (si le judoka n'a pas de judogi bleu, la distinction se fera   l'aide de ceinture rouge ou blanche). Pour les comp©titions   partir du niveau national, l'un des deux judokas doit revªtir un judogi bleu. Le judo se pratique pieds nus sur un tatami. Le judo est un sport olympique.
