This unique style can easily be adapted to compliment any existing martial art system around today.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be practiced by any one, Young or Old, Male or Female, the serious self defence practioner or someone training just for the physical and mental challenge.
Children in our Kids Club are taught 2 styles of martial arts in the one lesson, HapKiDo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
We strongly encourage your child to excel in school work offering awards for achieving higher grades then previously attained. Our kids classes are disciplined but we also understand that martial arts training needs to be fun as well, our system educates children to know, there is a time for fun and there is a time for concentration and focus. Self defence for your child is very important, with the ever increasing crime rate on our streets today it has become necessary for people, including kids to understand the importance of practical self defence. HapKiDo is one of the most practical and comprehensive self defence systems found in Australia today.

Teaching Hapkido at Georgia Tech since 1984. Georgia Tech Hapkido is a great way to get into shape, reduce stress, meet new people and learn self-defense. We have been teaching Hapkido at Georgia Tech for over twenty years. Hapkido stresses self-defense and fitness; unlike some of the competition or sport-based martial arts (Taekwondo, Karate, Judo).
Hapkido blends Traditional Martial Arts with the best concepts from Jujitsu, Judo, Wrestling and modern self-defense. Hapkido allows students of all shapes and sizes to excel. Being adaptable, Hapkido is well suited to both men and women.
The Hapkido Club is an SGA organization and the class is offered through CRC as a GIT Fit course. Students will be certified by the US Hapkido Association under Grand Master Eric Richards and Master Nils Onsager.

Image used with the permission of Master JH Kim - www.hapkidoia.com Hapkido is a complete self defense system, it incorporates the redirection of force found in Aikido and Jujitsu , the devastating joint locks and throws found in Chinese systems, and the kicking technique of Tae Kwon Do . Hapkido incorporates both "hard" and "soft" techniques. History Hapkido began in Korea through Buddhism. The techniques were initially handed down through the hierarchy of monks to ruling families and other royal officials as a means of self-protection and personal safety. Unlike many other martial arts styles, Hapkido was not generally known, or practiced. A monk grandmaster named Su-san, taught Hapkido to Korean monks. These techniques were used in the Im Jin Wae Ran invasion. This early predecessor to Hapkido flourished through many dynasties but eventually lost its popularity when Buddhism was replaced by Confucianism in Korea. Because Confucianism respects scholarly discipline over physical force, Hapkido disappeared almost entirely, passed down only through individual masters, monks, and, occasionally, royal families as a secret self-defense. More recently, Hapkido was reintroduced by the father of Hapkido, Yong Sool Choi (1904-1986). His parents died when he was still very young. Young Sool Choi began his studies at the age of nine. He was practising under Japanese
