Thanks for checking out Universal Grappling Arts. This is a modern combat system designed for modern combat. We first take the blueprint of Jeet Kune Do Concepts. This allows the system to adapt to each individual. Next we add the techniques and drills of the Filipino Martial Arts. This alone would be a very potent recipe to develop fighting ability. We streamline from there to blast realistic natural movements into your muscle memory. The lethal and crippling techniques banned in most schools are our bread and butter. In short, we fight dirty. This system is for everyone that is concerned about their safety in the real world. Every one needs to understand how to best protect their loved ones when the stuff hits the fan. This system simplifies the Filipino Martial Arts and uses some of the best training methods of Jeet Kune Do. We cover all ranges of combat with and with out weapons. The rigid traditional forms and eastern philosophy found in most schools are non-existant in Universal Grappling Arts. They are replaced with battle tested concepts and techniques for today's modern conflicts. I am Sifu Jason Uga the founder of Universal Grappling Arts. I am a certified Full Instructor in Kali Silat, Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Offensive Fighting Tactics under Guru John Lopez. I have Full Guru Certification under the World Kali Silat Society under MasGuru P. Greg Alland, an Apprentice Instructor Certification in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and the Filipino Martial Arts under Sifu Kelly Butler (Tenn. JKD Association) and Sifu Paul Vunak (Progressive Fighting Systems), a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and rank in several other arts. My students and I invite you to experience the dynamic combat solutions of Universal Grappling arts.

Enough is enough already!
People in the Orient , the Southern Hemisphere, and Europe have had enough and have already been taking matters into their own hands by refusing to permit genetically-altered crops in their soil.
Americans, on the other hand, in spite of their "Don't Tread on Me"
attitude on which their democracy was founded, have been more acquiescent. Most have sat back while companies like Monsanto and Novartis flooded the world with genetically-altered soy beans and corn in addition to dairy products from cows treated with a genetically-altered hormone (BST) and flesh from cows treated with growth hormones.
The European Union refuses to import flesh from American cows, and Canada has so far resisted heavy pressure from US trade officials to permit the use of BST in its dairy cows.
While few Americans were taking any notice, the purveyors of GM

Reed canary grass grows in tall, dense stands of bright green, but it’s hardly a sign of a healthy wetland.
Amy Groshek
Tricks to identify wild grasses Options for treatment "L ook at all that purple," said my friend, his forehead wrinkled in frustration. The highway skirted a large marsh, and I followed his gaze out the window. Surrounding the occasional purple streak of loosestrife flower were huge swaths of a bright green, thick-growing grass. Unnoticed, reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) had invaded and subdued this wetland long before the purple loosestrife arrived. "Reed canary grass has more influence over more acres than purple loosestrife, but because it’s green and not showy, we don’t notice it," says Dan Spuehler, management specialist for Wehr Nature Center in Milwaukee and former member of the State Natural Areas Management Crew for the DNR Bureau of Endangered Resources. Reed canary grass is native to North America, but a European subspecies has become an invasive pest in American wetlands, Spuehler says. English farmers began cultivating the grass around 1824 and brought the cultivar to the eastern U.S. in the 1850s. The plant was hardy, grew in waterlogged marginal soils, spread easily and provided forage early in the growing season. The grass was promoted nationwide and farm workers were photographed planting and harvesting reed canary grass in Coos County, Oregon in 1885.

Grappling with eels - second wriggle
By More by this author
Planning: (mostly) harmless
Rottweilers like Harry are rife in IT. They're resistant to change, and you'll often hear them thundering pithy retorts like "Don't give me problems, give me solutions!" It's easy to put this attitude down to their rigid, no-nonsense nature, or even to regard them as ignorant dinosaurs from a bygone era. But in reality, they are the product of an unforgiving business world in which deadlines matter and ROI is everything; and the attempts of a lone team leader to change the way his organisation thinks about project planning doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Plan driven projects are so-called because they are led (up the garden path?) by the project plan - the term "plan driven" was coined by Barry Boehm to contrast with the term "agile". The plan "owns" the project and affects the behaviour of everyone involved. It's pored over incessantly by stressed PMs (project managers) who worry about how to rearrange the staff to get the facts to fit the plan; and it's rolled up and used as a baseball bat during management meetings, when Harry the Rottweiler uses the baseline as evidence that the project is slipping.

http://www.kobukaijujitsu.com/grapplingstyles.html
WORLD GRAPPLING STYLES GENERAL HISTORY OF GRAPPLING Although grappling was done all over the world, the first "famous" styles were introduced to the Greek Olympic Games in 704 BC. Grappling had come to the Roman Empire through the Etruscans and had slowly evolved. Roman wrestling influenced the rather static Greek form and used military tactics such as upright takedowns. The old Greek style was much like Brazilian Jiu-Jujitsu today, which spends most of the match on the ground. The word Roman in Greco-Roman wrestling, however is a mistranslation of greek word "romi" referring to "valor & strength". Other ancient forms of European wrestling can be found in the British Isles dating back as far as 1829 BC. Wrestling forms called "Strong Arm Fighting" became famous, and even used specific grappling uniforms with thick collared jackets and waistbands. Other grappling styles in ancient Europe were GLIMA from the Norse and SCHWINGEN from Switzerland. There is also mention of grappling matches among the Scots and Irish. India had an ancient form of grappling from around 11 AD. Indian wrestling is known as Pahalwani or Mallavidya. Some Indians also practice a lesser known grappling art called Vajra-Musti.

Grappling the Gutsy Gibbon
I've been invited by GameGod to contribute to this blog giving ongoing updates of my foray into the world of Linux. However, I haven't figured out if it's because he thinks some readers may find it illuminating to see how a total newb is getting along with Ubuntu, or if its because he is sick of helping me with this stuff and wants the comments section to take his place. Regardless, here I am.
As far as operating systems go, I've been using for probably about 5-6 years. Sure, theres probably something nice about XP, but 2K has been good and stable for me and I dont want to rock the boat. However, I've been tinkering around with an old P3 800mhz thats been kicking around, getting it to run Ubuntu 7.04 so I can make a mythtv box . Everything has been going pretty well, except for the fact that while I'm at school I have a hard time justifying the $150 in hardware I need to purchase to get the thing off the ground. The one thing I did learn in that experience though is that iTunes is a piece of garbage and I want to use Rhythmbox full time. Therefore, I've decided to make the plunge and give this "

Also referred to as submission wrestling, grappling moves and techniques are found in jiu-jitsu, judo, traditional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. The strategies used to defeat an opponent can generally be divided into three sub-groups: throws, joint locks and pinning techniques, each of which can be used together or separately. Grappling moves are commonly used when teaching self-defense and by law enforcement officers. There are two forms of grappling that dictate the style and pace of movements and techniques, that is with gi or with “no-gi”. In this free video series, our expert martial arts sensei will demonstrate no-gi grappling moves, which emphasize body control of the torso and head, as opposed to emphasizing grips. He will demonstrate step-by-step instructions for several moves, including the fireman carry, hip toss, inner leg throw, and the rear naked choke hold. Whether you are looking to compete in wrestling or judo, or simply want to improve your self-defense moves, our expert will prepare you for your next battle with this free video instructional series.
