Dogdgeball You don't have to know how to skate to enjoy a game of broomball. Broomball is like hockey, but you use a broom and a ball instead of a stick and a puck and you get to wear your shoes on the ice. Broomball is great for teen groups and adult groups alike. Broomball is played with 10-15 players per team on the ice at one time, with additional players used as substitutes. Groups with more than 40 people should consider purchasing more than one hour of ice time. Additional hours can be sold in quarter hour increments. Ice time cost starts at $275/hour, but varies depending on the number of people and the number of hours rented. The price includes equipment.
The ice can be rented out after our regularly scheduled programs. The first available time each day is 9pm at the Northcross location, and 11:00pm at the I35 location. For more information go to Broomball Rules To check availability or make a reservation

Registration is now open for the 2008 Broomball season!!! Read all about it here ; the league will have two conferences: one for beginners, and the other for "advanced" players. I watched a couple games last year, and it looked like a lot of fun.

Bloomington Winter Fete Broomball Tournament
There's a tournament going on February 2, 2008 in Bloomington, Minnesota in conjunction with the city's Winter Fete. Cost is $175 and there's a cash payout to the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division (men's upper, men's lower and co-rec). The tournament is held at Westwood Park and is one day only so it doesn't interfere with the Super Bowl. Senser's is the host bar and they're working out some cool specials and activities for the weekend. More info and registration can be found at BloomingtonBroomball.com Broomball T-Shirts I found this cool store online that has some pretty cool Broomball t-shirts. Check out Haylee's Tees .

The Iron Man Tournament
June 26th, 2007 (97 views ) The Iron Man tournament is back again this year on Saturday August 25th. It's a pretty unique tournament because you sign up as an individual instead of as a team. Players are drafted by the goaltenders to form 8 teams. They keep it a fairly even mix of skill levels on all teams, so it stays fair and you get a chance to learn from the best broomball players that the USA has to offer. It's going to be held at the Rosemount Arena in Rosemount, MN. If you think you can make it, I highly encourage you do so. You will probably learn more from this one day than weeks of practice on your own. Follow the linkage for more information: Iron Man Tournament Info Leave a comment
