    Welcome to Yosemite
    Badger Pass Ski Area
    Backcountry Ski Tours at Yosemite
When snow blankets the high country, Yosemite becomes completely open to exploration by winter travelers. Discover the magic of Yosemite’s winters in the company of Yosemite Mountaineering School ski guides. Stay in our warm and cozy ski huts, enjoy food prepared for you by fun and friendly guides, and maybe even get a few tips on skiing while learning about Yosemite ecology and wildlife. Yosemite Mountaineering School operates two huts in the Yosemite area, the Glacier Point Ski Hut and a private hut in Tuolumne Meadows. Our most popular trips are one- and two-night trips to the Glacier Point Ski Hut, but we also provide custom tours, and some longer adventures for advanced skiers to our hut in Tuolumne Meadows – either a trans-sierra tour or an out and back from Lee Vining to Tuolumne.
    Glacier Point Backcountry Ski Hut
Yosemite's Glacier Point Ski Hut is located in one of the most spectacular sites in the Sierra overlooking Yosemite Valley, Half Dome and the Yosemite High Country. A ten-and-a-half mile guided ski trip on intermediate groomed terrain through magnificent Yosemite backcountry takes you to the rustic accommodations of the beautiful stone and log building.

Backcountry Ski Guide
Buyer's guide to Telemark, Alpine Touring, and Nordic Skis Telemark Alpine Nordic Go Ski! TELEMARK Since the mid 90's, skiing has gone through a renaissance. Skis have become wider, shorter, and easier to turn than ever before. This trend first started with alpine skiing and has finally crossed into the world to telemark. Leather boots have slowly gone by the wayside and stiffer, more responsive plastic boots have become the norm. With the plastic boots taking over, the simple 3-pin binding of yesteryear is no longer sufficient to drive the new skis. The telemark revolution is here and today's gear is vastly superior to that of just 10 years ago.
