Introduction
Mutterzunge and Philip's work of poetry She Tries Her Tongue, Her Silence Softly Breaks 2. The theory of "cultural hybridity" of the creation of new transcultural forms has become widely employed and disputed not only in contemporary literary-academic discourse but also in scientific, philosophical, and sociological disciplines. The person who most decisively shaped the conception is the post-colonial critic Homi K. Bhabha. In his analysis of the interrelations between coloniser and colonised, he comes to the conclusion that any cultural identity in the "contact zone" of intercultural relations is constructed in a hybrid space, which he calls "the Third Space of enunciation … [that] may open the way to conceptualising an inter national culture, based on ... the inscription and articulation of culture's

123. Centre For Russian Studies Database
A searchable collection of information on political developments, leaders and organizations, administrative subdivisions and ethnic groups. Maintained by the Center for Russian studies of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs.
http://www.nupi.no/russland/database/start.htm
Centre for Russian Studies' Database is meant to be used as a reliable source of information on different issues linked directly to developments in Russia. Information in this database is organised along four main axes, although you will also find in it information on other issues (elections, ethnic groups, economy, military issues and collection of Russian links - to see more information on content click ' Database: Content ' link to the left). The four main axes are :
  • political actors (individual and collective)
  • institutions
  • administrative units (information on 89 federal subjects of the RF)
  • chronology of current events
As a general rule there are two ways of retrieving information from the database. You can use either search engines provided by database’s operators or simply ‘click’ with the left mouse button on blue and/or underlined parts of text on our internet pages. The database is very user friendly, and in order to use it you need not be a data expert. You have, nontheless, to follow some rules to use this database in the most efficient way. Finding information in database Another way to find the information you need is to use the ‘list all’ option proposed by the database operator. After clicking on this option you will see a list of relevant records on your screen, and you can choose the one you are interested in by simply clicking on the blue and/or underlined part of the text on your screen.

Since its first meeting in December 2000, this fellowship focused on people of South Asian descent has grown in size, knowing God and each other, and in its visibility on campus from the Festival of India to the Backyard Bash. 3% of the student body at UT is African American. Many of these students are finding a spiritual home and place of ethnic identity formation in TGF. Texas Christian Fellowship is a multi-ethnic undergrad ministry serving the campus through small group Bible studies, leadership development, and community service. Founded over 20 years ago as CBS, the fellowship serves Asian American students by sharing God's good news about their ethnic identity and His love.

R E THNICITY
In 1986, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone remarked that the average American intellectual standard is lower than the average Japanese standard because of the blacks and Hispanics in the U.S. He has often said that the source of Japan's strength lies in its "racial homogeneity." Eleven years later, University of Texas Law School Professor Lino Graglia triggered a firestorm of criticism for his remarks that "Blacks and Mexican-Americans are not academically competitive with whites in selective institutions. It is the result primarily of cultural effects. They have a culture that seems not to encourage achievement. Failure is not looked upon with disgrace." It has been said that race is the plague of civilization. In 1977, Andrew Young, at that time the chief U.S. representative to the United Nations, claimed that a race war in South Africa would inevitably precipitate racial conflict in the United States. Some countries, like Great Britain and Australia, eliminate the potential for conflict by simply denying or severely limiting entry. However, American society has always been enriched by its waves of immigrants. John Kennedy observed how Alexis de Tocqueville saw the United States as "a society of immigrants, each of whom had begun life anew, on an equal footing. This was the secret of America: a nation of people with the fresh memory of old traditions who dared to explore new frontiers ..." In 2004, the Census Bureau predicted that in the year 2050 minority groups would comprise one-half of the total American population of 420 million. Hispanics will comprise roughly one-quarter of the population, blacks 15%, and Asians 8%.
